Playpen - yes or no?
We are potentially considering a playpen to keep little one safe whilst rolling over and crawling as our current house is not very baby friendly despite baby proofing everything possible.
Me and my husband both have mixed feelings about playpens as we think that we might be restricting little one’s movements. He feels like we are putting our baby in some sort of cage.
What do you all think? Are you using playpens? How is your experience?

We decided to change just one room, the sitting room, to be completely baby proofed rather than the whole house. That way it's easy to put a baby gate on the door and then rather than a playpen, baby has the whole room to roam. Might not be possible depending on the layout of your house, if not I think you can also get expandable playpens that are actually quite big or even room dividers so you wouldn't be restricting baby at all, just keeping them safe 😊
It makes our unsafe living room less of a danger and gives us a few more weeks to baby proof
We got a playpen for our 1st child and will definitely be using it once this lg is on the move.
We bought the largest one that we could afford/fit in our living room.
Having it meant I knew that our lo one was always safe. They can get themselves in to mischief so quickly even in an area that you think is safe.
He was never 'locked' in it for very long but just if I needed to go to the toilet or clean up after a meal for example. At all other times we had the door tied open.
