Question of faith.

I have always believed that there has to be more out there, I've always wanted to have faith. I haven't been raised in a religious environment, I've never been to church but I still thank the lord before I fall asleep, just because I'm grateful and it fills me with a sense of peace. But recently that faith is being challenged and I'm so so angry. Because if there is a higher power, if there is someone who loves as much as god is supposed to then why, why would he give my 8 year old nephew a brain tumor. A cancerous brain tumor, and yes a routine eye test found it and within a week he has had MRIs and diagnosis, the tumor removed, biopsied and treatment set up which is incredible but he is an 8 year old high functioning autistic boy, the loveliest person and he has been through enough, and now he has to go through chemo and radiation and it could come back. Why is this fair? How can I be okay with this? How can I have faith when something so horrible happens to someone so young and kind and all things good when there are so many bad people out there who get to be healthy? I just don't understand. And I'm so angry at how unfair life is.

I’m so sorry. I can’t imagine seeing a child I love go through this.

I’m so sorry❤️❤️❤️ This is just one of the many reasons I’m not religious even though I grew up in a very religious family and was indoctrinated into my “faith” from childhood. I just can’t wrap my mind around a God having the power to end so much pain in the world and choosing not to even though he supposedly created everything and has ultimate power.

I’m a humanist now and try to keep love and humanity at the forefront of my beliefs and choose to put my faith in that because no matter how much ugly is in the world and suffering, there’s always at least some good humans that step up to the plate and try to ease that pain and do something to help. I hope your nephew is doing okay and is getting spoiled through all these hardships he is facing ❤️

I would like to answer this, but it will be up to you anyways. But God works in mysterious ways. And He uses situations and people to grow your character and develop you into the person you need to be. I see it like a diamond. A diamond is under a lot of pressure to become a diamond. And even after its discovered as a diamond, it still needs to be cut into beautiful shapes to be used in jewellery etc. Every time you go through hard times, your character gets build, you become stronger. And God wants you to rely on Him. And if you put all your Faith in Him, He wants the Glory. But its all up to you to ask yourself if He is worth is to go through hard times.. ❤️

so sorry about your nephews situation but it made me think of this question of faith… Did God give your nephew a cancerous brain tumor? or was it the evil actions by our own kind? Humans who have used greed for their gain. Those who have put carcinogens in our children’s food, soaps, our cleaning supplies, detergents, lotions, sunscreen, even our medicines.. God doesn’t give or allow cancer. And God hates the evil of this world. When bad things happen, we fall victim to blaming God. And that’s ok. Jesus came down and suffered for us, he took the human form to feel what we feel. He cries when you cry. He knows pain. He understands. Just because I am Christian doesn’t make me immune to the pain & evil of this world. It means we don’t have to go at it alone. And I am promised eternal life in heaven. God didn’t ruin this world, Humans did. because of our sinful nature. And now innocent children and people have to pay for it. No, it’s not fair. And your feelings are valid. Praying for you❤️

I pray this situation only brings you closer to God. To rely on his strength and that he shows you his miracles of Grace and mercy.
I lost my papa in 2020 when they were experimenting covid drugs. He caught covid and they were putting him on all these random meds. We couldn’t see him because he was in isolation. Over time he became brain dead.. we watched them experiment on him.
He was a good man, wise, a pastor and a counselor for high risk adolescents…He died. Alone in the hospital. It wasn’t fair. My nephew is also autistic, he has no brain tumors but he was born 2 months early and had to be in NICU poked with needles every hour and had surgery on his heart as an infant. I remember driving an hour, not sleeping and missing meals just to stay with him in there so he wasn’t alone. He’s alive and now 5 years old. My point is, God never promised an easy life. Without pain or suffering. But we have each other to share the pain of this temporary life

For a few years I was angry at God. I was raised Catholic and went to a Christian school. My relationship with church was very broken. I went away to a Christian school for college and my relationship with the church and God got stronger. My husband and his family have issues with it due to his mom’s cancer diagnosis years ago but they attended my family’s Catholic Church for a sacrament I finally received and were very supportive for the most part. My husband still has issues with religion but is agreeing to allow our daughter to be baptized.
I’ll never understand why terrible things happen. It is a blind faith that gets tested. I’ll never know why my uncle died without me getting to say goodbye, I’ll never know why my brother died on my 21st birthday. One argument is that the devil brings the bad shit and it’s in faith that brings us comfort. That the devil is the reason there is hunger, sadness and pain and that through God’s will, us as humans will find a way to change things 🤷🏽‍♀️

Hi,

Brain tumor warrior here, first I want to say that I am sorry that your nephew had to go through that but I am glad he is in recovery now. I am a brain tumor warrior also. My brain tumor was found “One Week” after giving birth to my daughter (Sep 2022). After going through it all lol here’s a little snippet of my story and why I still do believe in God.

I started having various symptoms and severe headaches at the very end of my pregnancy…in a nutshell I expressed this to several doctors , two ER visits, eye doctor and even switched OBs but all of this was dismissed as “normal.” One week after giving birth to my daughter, I had gotten extremely sick and that’s when my tumor was found.

Here’s what God did. God showed up for me three times and it was like I heard a voice navigating me through this entire diagnosis from during my pregnancy, after and during recovery. I say this bc I went to several doctors and I kept being told that everything I experienced was normal. The day when I went into the ER, a week after having my daughter , I was laying on the couch after days of barely eating, feeling weak and I went to the bathroom and something like a voice just told me to go into the ER (this was after calling my OBGYN for the 2nd time and he insisted that everything I felt was normal. I was recovering from a C-section also btw). But I went into the ER and that’s when they found my tumor. There is way more to this story and how God worked, but all I can say is that God guided me through this entire thing, and I feel that if I would had not went into the ER when i did things could have been worse. (I went through what’s called Pituitary Apoplexy, look it up.)

I too was a little angry about the situation, I was angry how things went for me and how everything with my symptoms were missed and I pretty much felt like I suffered at the end of my pregnancy, and that I had to be away from my daughter during that time, (I could go on and on) but I have to catch myself bc I remember how God brought me through it all and how I am still so so grateful to be here and healthy and with my daughter and my family.

It’s the little things that you began to be grateful for and the things that God has brought you through that you use to tell others. Your nephew has been through a lot, but from what you just said I can already tell that he is a very strong young man and is a walking testimony in itself. Sometimes we aren’t dealt with the best hand but it’s how we use it and deal with it. When we overcome things it’s just a testimony in how God has worked in our life. If you still have breathe to breath , can see and read this, then you still have a purpose

and I believe that with your nephew too 🙂❤️

I’m not sure what “type” of brain tumor he has but if he has had treatment , it sounds like he is on path for recovery.

The fact that you even wrote this shows how much you truly do love and care for him and I’m sure he feels the love and how much you have been there for him.

I tell more of a detailed story about my brain tumor on my Tik Tok if you want to check it out. The series of this story are at the bottom of my profile. I pasted a link below (please note that I am not sharing this for followers , I am genuinely sharing it so that you can see that this is real).

There are also different resources for Brain tumors linked at the top of my page in my bio .You should check them out for family support. Sending peace and love your way. I hope this helps 🩶🩶🫂

I have no faith, to much has happened for me to believe personally.
I would love to think that there is something or someone out there but it baffles me that if there is how much hurt and pain goes on x
I hope your nephew has a speedy recovery poor little lad sending hugs x

Faith is the evidence of things unseen and the substance of things hoped for. Yes I believe there is a higher power, God, but there’s also another force, the force of evil from the devil and the devil comes to kill steal and to destroy. Bad things happen to good people and unfortunately good things happen to bad people who may seem less deserving. I can’t understand what you’re dealing with but faith is a difficult thing and faith is not an emotion or a feeling. And the only way you can have faith in anything is by knowing that thing inside out and through and through. In our daily lives the only way we vouch for a person is usually based on how well we know them. If you make it a point to get to know this higher power more and more and focus on him even when the situation seems like a dead end he reveals himself in ways that are just unimaginable. Get to know him a bit more and I promise you He will open a door you didn’t think was there. I pray for strength for you and your son 💖

Even though I’m Muslim I believe we have the same God. And I know he will challenge the people he loves to strengthen us and get our belief stronger. My aunt was the most wonderful person, but she got cancer and unfortunately lost to it. My brother got a brain tumor recently and he got it removed and had to go through a lot of treatments. But it didn’t make him question god. He became so much more religious. I feel like he created a stronger bond with God and it is very beautiful
