I’ve started looking into buying some things for my baby girl that is due in April. So undecided which size should I go for! Newborn / 1 month clothes are for babies around 53-54 cm which is the average size of the newborn but they do look quite small, whereas 3 months clothing look way too big.

Both my babies wore newborn or tiny baby when they first arrived they were 6lb 12 and 6lb 15. They didn’t more up to first size and 0-3 until at least a month old

I’m a size 6/8 and baby girl weighed 6,8 when she was born, she only fits into tiny baby/ first size clothes, all the 0-3months are way too big,

My daughter weighed 5pound15oz she was in tiny baby and it was still too big for her but I would get some tiny baby and newborn just to be on the safe side x

I bought lots of 0-3 months for my baby as I was told my baby would be average size. When he was born, he was 5lbs 12oz and too small for newborn clothes! My mum had to go and buy us lots of tiny baby clothes. I'd suggest buying a small selection of different sizes so you have something when she's here no matter what her size is and then buy more once she's home

the 3 months are too big; i posted a while ago that i am willing to sell some of the newborn that i did not had a chance to gice to my daughter; in interested message me; the 3 months were to big and than i bought too many amd received as gifts; tbh you wont have time to make her wear all of the newborn as they grow really fast!

My little one was only 5 pounds and 47cm and I’d bought no tiny baby so definitely have a few of each size as you never know! She’s 15 weeks and only just gone into 0-3months

Get bits in both. I only got a few newborn & up to one month and mainly concentrated on 0-3. My boy was born 7Ibs 15 so not even small, but didn’t fit in to 0-3 until 7 weeks so I had to go out and buy a lot more newborn stuff x

I mainly bought 0-3 as was told he would be big.. but I did also buy a few up to 1 month clothes which he used for a good 3 weeks as he dropped weight after being born ..
for reference he was 9lb 1 at birth and dropped to 7lb14 before putting weight back on..
this time round I’ve just topped up the up to 1 month bits but also bought 1 ‘set’ of newborn - so 6 pack of vests, 6 pack of babygrows and around 3 outfits x

I’d get newborn and up to 1 month, I didn’t find the sizing was much different for either but get 0-3 too as they can grow into new sizes faster than you think!
My girl was born 7lb8 and was in newborn / up to 1 month for about 4/5 weeks and then we moved to 0-3. But legs were still in newborn trousers until about 6 weeks old

I wouldn’t bother getting much 0-3 month stuff yet, unless you’re told your baby is going to be particularly big. Newborn babies are smaller then you realise before you have one! Also most of the clothes do have room for them to grow a bit x

Our little girl weighed 7lbs when born, she's 17 days old now and is still only fitting into tiny baby and newborn clothes that are made for 50cm in height. Newborn/first size clothes made to 56cm are much too big on her, so quite a lot of her clothes still don't fit her😭🤣 But I'm sure she'll grow into them x

My daughter at birth was too big for preemie but too little for newborn. And didn’t fit into 0-3 month clothes for over a month. She was 6 pounds 13 ounces at birth.

My baby was 6lbs 7oz, so newborn was big on him. I think it also depends on how tall mum and dad are because me and my partner are quite short so he weighs fine but he is short 😂 also, they do go down in weight after they are born just to keep in mind x

Depends on how big your baby is. Mine was born at 6 pounds 6 ounces but by the time we left the hospital she was 5 pounds 7 ounces and newborn clothing was big on her. I brought newborn and 0-3 month though because I didn’t know which size would fit.

I have an almost 3 week old and he was born 7lbs exactly. He’s still on newborn and I’m moving into up to 1 month. 0-3 is massive! At 2 weeks he was 51cm long. Newborn last longer than you think - most lose weight after birth as well so take that into account he dropped to 6lbs 8 and was back to birth weight at 2 weeks 😊 I recommend 7 newborn sleepsuits/vests etc and a couple of outfits. And then get a few more in the next sizes up as they will last longer

Thanks everyone! I will get a few in every size just to make sure she has something to wear for a few days before we buy more 🙂 Just don’t want to be wasting too much on unnecessary items she wouldn’t wear because it’s too small
