Bromley council housing waiting list

Hiya! I’m exactly the same as you! But with 2 children in band 2 with Bromley, I have been bidding since August 2021 so will be 3 years this August I was told to expect to be waiting/bidding for 6 years, Bromley is one of the worst for housing they just don’t have the properties xx

They was absolutely s**t with me, I was on a band emergency, with 3 kids under 5, my oldest having epilepsy and my youngest with breathing problems and they didn’t do shit and I got evicted from my house in April left me homeless until June sofa serving and friends houses they wanted to move me out to Birmingham so then I took it to court and then they all of a sudden found me a 3 bed house in Surrey

I was housed in about 17 months but you do really just have to bully them. They moved me out of borough after 12 months despite me working in Bromley. I called 3 times a day and emailed twice in between. After I said I was going to sue them they sent me a direct offer the same day x

Took me 5 years in 2H after being housed out of borough and that wasn’t through bidding that was a direct offer after getting a solicitor involved as they tried turning my temporary accommodation in to permanent

I believe Croydon is worse then Bromley they will not help me at all untill my daughter is 10 I’m in a 1 bed property there is me, my partner, daughter that’s 9 and son that’s 7 and half months. My sister is in a 2 bed and she has her and her partner girls are 18, 10 and 2 and boy is 14 she was told she would get her bidding detail when her son was 10 yet still waiting and he’s now 14

I've just been given a direct offer (was also 2H) after 18 months in a homeless shelter. So many emails back and forth, but I got my forever home in the best area 🥹 Before my final offer I was told I was 76 on the bidding, so still had a way to go and that was 18 months being 2H

Thanks all for your responses. So how do I get a direct offer made? My temporary accommodation is suitable & I’m fairly happy here but I don’t want it to be forever, even though I am out of borough, it’s not far and I can easily get to my job & to family members for babysitting ect.. I don’t see any reason why they would make me a direct offer, but I don’t want to be stuck here for the next 5 years, it’s not a nice area

They just see it as you've got a roof over your head and the fact you aren't having any issues at your current temp, they won't relocate you for a very long time unfortunately x

We were given out of the borough TA and is very uncomfortable because we have to travel every day to my job in Bromley and my children schools. Anymore updates on this thread? I’ve lived in permanent 1 bed since 6 months pregnant with my first, she’s going to be 4 after Xmas & now halfway through with baby number 2. I’m band 3T because I was in temp 4 years ago (2H) then accepted this stupidly at 6 months pregnant & told once baby’s here I’ll be entitled to a 2 bed- not being told at the time how long the years waiting list would be! Doesn’t seem like I’ll be moved anytime soon don’t have any living space as gave my daughter the bedroom. The bidding is just hell 🥴

Any advice as I have been bidding and also emailing them frequently about my ta. I have a mould issue and they just keep sending who I assume is the landlord to wipe it over with a sponge and it keeps coming back. I have a 4 month old and I am away from family and friends single with just me and my baby. I am not in the nicest area and don’t like going out because of this how do I get them to offer me a property sooner as I have no hope with the bidding process
