Looking for helpful advice.

I was prescribed Wellbutrin about 2 months ago. It worked at first. So now they are wanting to give me Zoloft. Looking to see if others are taking it and if they felt side effects or what not. TIA

I’m taking a .25mg of Zoloft and it gave me really bad diarrhea for like 2 weeks. I have noticed that sometimes I’m kinda numb to emotions, like ex. Something horrible happened to one of my friends and I wanted to cry so bad but I couldn’t it’s a weird kinda numbing feeling: I liked Klonopin way better but I’m breastfeeding at the moment so I’m stuck with Zoloft for the time being. To be honest, I’m not sure if I like it. I’m giving myself a bit more time to feel it out before I stop taking it.

I have taken it before with no side effects. My son in law just came off Lexapro because he had no emotion and wanted to sleep ALL the time. I have been on these meds since I was 19.. (now I am 45) I truly believe that you have to try meds to see for yourself. Everyone’s chemical makeup is different. This could allow one to feel completely different than another person. I now take Effexor. I know MANY people on it and love it. However, there is one common denominator between all of us that I know that are on it. You can not skip a dose bc if you do you will have horrible side effect of dizzy feeling.

Hello 🙂 I'm not medically qualified, so I can't advise you specifically on these two prescription meds, but are you taking these antidepressants for menopause symptoms, or because you're depressed? I ask because antidepressants aren't usually recommended to treat menopause symptoms unless you can't (or don't want to) use Hormone Replacement Therapy... 🩷

@Sharon it’s for depression.

@Nicole - ah OK. I hope things settle down for you soon and you feel much better 🩷

I take Wellbutrin and Lexapro. No issues.. nothing bothers me and my appetite is suppressed until about 3/4

Personally I had very bad reactions with the Zoloft. I felt it made me way unstable. Went from depressed to something else I didn’t like. So for that reason I don’t recommend it. Right now I went the herbal supplement route and it’s it’s working better than any anti-depressant ever has for me. I am doing holy basil tea, passion flower in pill form but you can do tea as well, and stopped eating any processed foods and gave up sugar. It was not easy but I’ve had depression my whole life, so I was willing to try anything. Many if my friends like Saint John wort and I’ve heard great things about ashwaganda. I also make sure to take magnesium and vitamin D daily. Both can help a lot with depression. For me I thought why not fix my imbalance that’s causing my depression rather than suppress it with medication. My true advice is you have to do what works for you. I finally found relief for myself this way but it’s a journey to figure out what will work for you.
