Hello, my little girl has been on pepti 1 for about 4 weeks now due to suspected CMPA - although most of her symptoms have now cleared especially the constant vomiting she is really unsettled / screaming & crying (which she has never done before) bringing her legs up to her belly, windy, constipated - has anyone else had anything like this with pepti 1? I thought it might’ve been the thickener so I haven’t put that in her last 5 bottles and she’s still been the same.
Thanks x

My son did that but when he actually did poo it was really watery and had mucus in it, we have now had to go on neocate and he is so much better is much more content and comfortable happy little boy!

she pooed on Saturday (after forcing and screaming every time she was pushing) and they were rock solid lumps 🤯 I will ring the doctor and see what they say xx

It sounds like ita causing constipation so you may need something like lactulose to help as it's cleared all other symptoms I'd ask to trial that

oh bless her my daughter was like that when she was a baby she’s now 14 but has chronic constipation and has had it all her life it’s horrible. As for my son he has a complete dairy allergy and can’t have any milk that had dairy in it that’s why we are now on neocate with him.
Hopefully the doctors can give you something for her to easy it as said something like lactulose may help clear it my daughter used to have this as a baby.

we’ve been giving her lactulose every night and even tried prune puree which did clear her but last night & today she’s been bringing her legs up and screaming again 😭xx

definitely take her back to the doctors then as not nice for them to be in pain x

@Molly the other alternative is pedeactric movicol
My LG reacted to cross contamination in lactulose ao she's on movicol now this seems to be helping but I haven't been doing full doses yet

be very careful with lactulouse as it has lactose in it and if your baby has a severe CMPA it could aggravate it. My hubs is a GP and gave our daughter lactulouse when she was constipated and it triggered a shitshow of a week she’s still breaking out in hives and I’m at my wits end

Perhaps try water 💧 as a first resort

@Meeran yes we are now on pedeactric movicol as she come out in a rash although she's still getting it every bottle since the lactulose 🙈
My gp said it could havw been cross contamination but most babies are fine with it but obviously my little girl isn't

is your baby still getting a rash every time she feeds? Mine is and honestly I thought it is just us, I’m at my wits end

My lb was already constipated before pepti 1 he had 3 weeks of diarrhoea from around 2 weeks old, then constipation ever since, pepti didn't stop the constipation, neither did lactulose nor movicol, lactulose and movicol seemed to make him worse. He's done 4 weeks on pepti and today switched to alfamino, cmpa wasn't agreed untill 4 weeks ago due to me suggesting it. He was pooping every 3 days from around Christmas week, then ny he had imms(late as was poorly) and pepti a week later, now going 5-6 without pooping, day 6 today and still nothing. You're not alone Hun, just sorry I don't have anything helpful other than that, it's a long hard journey. My lb is 4months now.

@Meeran yes I have no idea why as she's on neocate and has been fine for 6 weeks before the lactulose and then since its a rash everytime
I have a call with drs today to see if the know a reason as I'm worrying she's reacting to something else now

we’re in exactly the same boat. Mine was fine on regular apti for months and then reacting every feed ever since lactulouse we tried pepti, nutramigen and alfamino and still reacting every single feed. You’re not alone, I’m panicking too x

@Meeran we have been on neocate since she was 3 weeks old due to reactions to nutramigen
As far as I'm aware neocate was supposed to be the most hypoallergenic but I know it contains coconut oil which is a rare allergy but it can occur
Have you checked ingredients to see what baby could be reacting to in it?
I'm wondering if baby is still reacting to lactulose in her system but it seems to flare up on a bottle but not every bottle its really strange
I will let you know how we get on with drs today x
