Toddler won't take medicine

My son used to love taking medicine but now he refuses. He gags it, spits it back up and we all end up wearing it. Unfortunately that means he's not getting better and his illness just lags. Depending on the medicine, we've tried flavoring it or putting it in a bottle. Any other suggestions or tips/tricks that work for you? TYIA

He's 18 months old. We've tried something similar and no luck. We've had doctors attempt their "tricks" and still nothing works.

Try putting some on your finger for him to taste first? Usually the medicine for little ones has a good taste so maybe it's the visual that makes him react negatively?

Thank you!
