Skat play

I don’t know what to do about this but I’m going crazy. My autistic toddler has been playing her shit this week. She did it at my mom’s house first. Dug into her diaper and smeared it on the couch and floors. She did it again and I thought maybe she’s just deregulated and needs sensory input so we play with playdo, theraputty, sensory baths and sensory bins but she’s still doing it! Every single day this week. My house smells like shit. I’m sure she’s gonna get pink eye because she smears it on her face too. The worst part of it all is she thinks it’s absolutely funny! Every time I caught her she would laugh hysterically like she played the best prank ever. She’s non verbal and has limited comprehension. I’m going to order a shit load of onesie pajamas but I don’t understand why she is doing this! Send help 😭

My 3 year old autistic son just started doing this as well. He turns 4 in a few weeks and has done it 2x. Now I'm on him whenever he goes in a corner or under the table. As soon as he's done, I'm immediately getting him up to get him changed out of the pull-up. We've been potty training for almost 2 years now, too, and it's just a hard process. Wish I had some helpful advice but you are not alone.

Maybe try a onesie so he cannot get into the diaper. Put it on backwards if needed so he can’t take it off. And maybe anytime he’s attempting to access his diaper give him something squishy to play with instead. 🤞

Ok that’s what I’ll do and hope for the best
