We do, around 3 months she was interested in colours and shapes, we don’t really have a ‘limit’ on screen time. The tv is on all day every day but it’s not always programmes for her, sometimes it’s music or something we’re watching.
We put on nursery rhymes or hey bear. Sometimes she’ll sit and watch for a while other times she will just look then carry on doing what she was doing.
I don’t want her to grow up thinking TV is a luxury when * to us * it isn’t.
But I draw the line at iPads and phones for YouTube when we’re out I’m not doing that

I do not, you aren't really supposed to let them have screentime until at least 18 months old. Now I'm not saying my baby hasn't turned around and watched haha, a lot of times when we're watching something and she's in her bouncer toy she will turn around and watch for a min but I do not give her her own TV time. It's harder with 2 other kids to not have her not watch a little!

Nope. Zero screen household. My 4 year old gets about an hour a week total. She has no idea who Ms. Rachael is and I'm ok with that.

I'm with @Shanee, my 4.5yo gets MAYBE 2 hours per week. We didn't introduce TV until 18m and even at that time it was VERY limited. Too many studies showing negative effects on brain development to entice me to use screen time this young. My son has always been ahead for speaking and recognition of numbers/letters/shapes without the use of educational shows. Whenever you choose to introduce it, avoid shows that switch images quickly...cocomelon is a popular one but is not advised for this reason. I do not do iPad or phone with my 4.5yo when out ever, either.

It was impossible for me to not do screen time with my daughter. My work is all on the computer and she's with me when I work. She watches what I do. So, since that's not entertainment for her and she tends to get fussy with it after a while, I will put something on for her from Netflix. She watches some, but isn't glued to it. I usually don't let her watch anything in my phone. But she is obsessed with it anyway because she knows it holds a treasure trove of pictures and videos of her which she gets a kick out of seeing. Those I will let her look at and watch there.

Screen time isn't for us other than passive screen time (like she might see a computer screen turned across a room on a desk or on our TV on a static image but that's it). My husband and I are software developers and, like many in tech, we know all too well how much technology is aimed at grabbing and keeping attention to the user's detriment (kids or otherwise). We don't even have cable so we never leave a TV on in the background. Not looking to introduce it to baby until it's developmentally appropriate. When we do, it will be a few minutes of Miss Rachel and less stimulating programming .

It can be a privilege not to, though. I agree with all the anti-screen literature but there are also family and situational factors to consider. For some people who don't have a whole village or even a partner there to help, a screen can be a lifeline for a shower or sanity. For those of you who are introducing it early for whatever reason, there are resources online for the best content to use.

Pediatricians say give almost NO screen time at all before 18 months. Should be very limited, it is not good for their brains

I've done it when he's sick and miserable, he's had 2 pretty bad colds so far and had to miss music class and storytime so I let him watch a little bit of Teletubbies and Ms. Rachel on those days.

My girl does have screen time. Her first wake window consists of watching Ms Rachel in bed while I get up to be a person. She will then watch at some other points throughout the day, but usually when I need a break. She definitely has idle independent play as well, but if I have to get something done, it’s a go-to if she’s fussy with just toys

Yes. We started at around 6 months. MsRachel, Super Simple Songs, Paisley's corner, or just music without a video. Nothing else.

I do it the same way, as

We do Ms Rachel and Blues Clues 😃 everyone has there own opinion, do whatever works for you and your baby

We don't limit screen time in my house! And my 2 year old chooses to not watch very much screen. She is very smart, knows sign language, body parts, colors. You have to do what works for you and your LO! Good luck!

Emily Oster has good info on this in her book crib sheet. That book goes over the studies which show babies can not learn from tv until they are 2 and it starts to not delay their development at age 3. My goal is to make it to 2yo without any screen time and to limit screen time heavily from age 2-3. So far my baby has only had screen time for FaceTime calls and he sees tv in passing at his grandmas house but I try to turn him away from it. At age 3 I plan to have limited scheduled screen time so my kiddo knows when to expect it and that it’s not all the time.

I put on ocean or safari animals with relaxing music on the tv for screen time in the living room 🤷🏼‍♀️
