Anyone else struggle with mom guilt and how do you cope?
My LO is 3 months old and it had been a medically rocky start. We’ve had a slew of issues (short nicu stay, low birth weight, hypothermia, kidney stones, feeding difficulties, heart murmur, reflux) and she refuses sleep. I know she’s refusing sleep because she’s uncomfortable and we’re seeing so many doctors and specialists to help. We see a cardiologist for the heart murmur tonight.
My husband leaves for work at 8am and comes home around 7:30pm. By the time he’s home, I’m exhausted and pass the baby over to him. I go to sleep around 10pm and he’s up until 2am with the baby. I get up at 2 and switch with him. I feel so guilty that I need to be doing more to help him as he’s the one going to work and he needs more sleep to function during the day and I stay home with the baby. He’s so patient and willing to help me, but I still can’t shake the feeling of guilt that I’m not doing enough or I’m not staying up later at night with our baby.

You’re definitely not alone. I struggle so much with postpartum depression and had to go into the hospital because I was having suicidal thoughts. My boyfriends works late sometimes so I’m with her 24/7. She’s gotten fussy at certain times of the day and no matter what I do nothing seems to help. It gets to the point where I’m crying because I feel like I’m not a good mother or I’m not doing enough for our daughter.
