As a new mom again, I’ve struggled with keeping up with my daily devotions. After being very active in a church community, I’ve also found myself distancing from it. I know pp anxiety could have a part- but I just don’t feel like the strong Christian warrior anymore. Even getting to church is exhausting. I’ve simply been praying and giving myself grace for when I do make it. And thankful to still feel God’s love. Anyone have any tips for maintaining faith during this major life change?

Ive been the same. Me and hubby reads a chapter of the bible every night and we talk about it afterwards. We also try to find an bible study worksheet onlie to do them at home

nice! Yeah, we read nightly too. Right now we are reading through Kings and then pray as a family before bed

Hey I'm gonna be the oddball here . It actually starts in the mind, not what you are doing or not doing. Our journey with God starts with sitting . Resting. This is Ephesians . We are seated in the heavenlies . Now. That is we are seated with Christ on God's right hand . We are righteous ( in right standing) sanctified ( set apart) , justified ( just as if you never sinned ) redempted ( bought with a price ) and have the ministry of reconciliation ( the right and worthy to share the Gospel)
Do you see yourself in these Truths? Do you believe it in the core ? Do you rest in them? If you do THEN you can enjoy your walk with God. You won't " feel your not a warrior" but rather KNOW you're confident you are a Warrior for Him . So you get to enjoy sitting then walking . You then can walk in love , walk by the spirit - why? Because you rested first. Then you can stand Stand and do all you can to stand according to Ephesians 6 by putting on the armor . Isn't that beautiful? Then you can stand and be unmovable!

thank you for sharing all of those awesome ideas/resources! I really appreciate it. I have some favorite pastors and I listen to the recorded sermons a lot of time when I’m cooking. Will try the others as well 🥰 I’m working really hard at letting my LO stay with the church daycare but every time I visit it seems too chaotic for me and I take her back with me. Hoping as she gets older it gets easier!

thank you for these reminders. I honestly feel like my mind is my worst enemy right now. PP anxiety is something I’m working against (intrusive thoughts, distrust, etc). I’m clinging to the belief that all of this is a phase and that God holds me in the palm of His hand and that I’m under the shadow of His wing.

girl i FEEL you!!! before being pregnant i was so on fire, going to every service, praying and fasting, worshipping and reading multiple times a day, fellowshipping, etc. but pregnancy and this new mama stage is so hard spiritually! our bodies go through so much and end up feeling spiritually dull. i haven’t been able able to read at all, but worshipping and praying is what i can manage right now. God has grace for us mamas and once our hormones regulate it will be so much better. my best friend said her fire came back around 2-3 months postpartum. just keep praying, even if it’s for God to help you, cover you, and bring you strength and increase your faith. He knows the seasons were in because He put us in it so He will help us through it as well, we just need to ask and rely on Him!! I also struggle with pp anxiety but the Word tells us to take authority and take every thought captive. put on the armor and trust Him. we got this! my inbox is always open too ❤️

Thanks Whitney. He surely is. I will testify thru all my hell he has been faithful . Msg me anytime

Faith is your belief inside of you, not the works you do...now faith without works is as good as dead...but the works change because you change...your seasons change...your capacity changes. Not everyone has capable bodies to serve in the same way, go to the same places etc...it doesn't mean their faith cannot be strong. What CAN you do in this season mama? Host a church watch party? Donate items to shelters? Sign up for meal trains? Talk on the phone with ppl who are in lonely seasons (not men of course). Pay for someone's coffee & say it was from Jesus. Donate to a legit company who cares for people hurt by or in w@r. Next time you go to scroll, scroll through the Bible app instead. There's a lot you can do...the main thing is...give yourself permission to change because life already changed for you. God isn't in a box. He gave you free will. Just honor Him in ways reasonable to your particular reality! 💛 Serve, not from guilt or obligation, but with a cheerful heart. So, what makes you feel cheerful?

🥹 wow thank you so much. From reading through everyone’s responses I’m seeing I’m really beating myself up over not being in the same season I was in before. I expected to “pop” back and jump into everything I was doing before (leading women’s ministry, prayer ministry team, worship team, etc). My church is very service-oriented and I’ve been feeling like I’m slacking. I’m also all about authenticity so have not budged on returning to these responsibilities fully until I feel it’s God led. Uggg literally in tears right now ya’ll 😭 This has been SO much pressure that I haven’t felt comfortable sharing with anyone in my church family- mostly due to its a young, mostly single church. A few mamas but they weren’t leading before having a baby.
REALLY appreciate all of you 🥰

when you're tender with yourself, you become the pioneer paving the way for the mamas after you. They will give themselves grace in its season and strive the lead in that season too. Everyone fits in some place! Giving yourself permission to search that out, will give others in your community courage to do the same...imagine a guilt free, cheerful, authentic, tender, serving community of leaders *sigh* 😍

sounds like heaven 😍
