Arrowe Park..

Gosh the experience I’ve had at arrow park. So baby has been kicking from 20 week & im now 23 weeks +3.

She has a little pattern. When I have chocolate, when I’m leaning forward in work, bath & first thing in bed she goes mad normally.

Yesterday I didn’t feel her kick once from 7am till 7pm So I called the midwife last night at 7pm & said I haven’t felt her kick. I got told cause I’m not 24 weeks I shouldn’t be worrying and shouldn’t really be feeling her kick anyways & to wait to see for today.

Today I’ve been up and in work since 8am again no kicks. It got to 5pm so I went up to arrowe park, got told off for not calling up before I turned up (even though last night the midwife made me feel like I shouldn’t be going up cause I’m not 24 weeks) WHATS 4 DAYS

So I didn’t really wanna call again. They wasn’t happy I didn’t have my notes. When I finally got seen the woman had the wrong equipment cause she thought I was 33 weeks not 23 weeks. So the notes they went off to go and see clearly didn’t make a difference 😂

Then I got told off and told to next time call my midwife. (Don’t even know who my midwife is cause my 8 weeks app the woman who checked me in was someone from one side of the Wirral and only deals with them girls & I was on the other side. Plus when I went for my first midwife app they said they wasn’t my normal midwife cause my normal midwife is off sick.)

Has anyone had a crappy experience? I feel like since day one they have been rude & unhelpful.

Yes I had horrid experience while I was in there having my boy I felt like they where using me and him as guinea pigs in the end I said enough I’m going and some how everything was okay after I said that x

honestly I felt nervous calling up last night & was even more stressed about going up today..

Tbh it’s made me feel like next time I won’t even bother, I felt like I was causing them stress for me being there for 20 minutes xx

I’ve just had my baby there and honestly I cannot fault the staff only the system they have to work with! I was due to be induced Thursday which I did had pessary in 24hrs but then had to wait until Sunday for a bed to have my waters broken; side note they did not explain I would not be allowed to leave the hospital as I’d had hormones so they needed to monitor baby! The staff were incredible but you could visually see how understaffed and stressed each individual was in there! They are quite particular about dates and especially calling ahead as they are so overrun! Everyone’s experience is so different but advocate for you and your baby if you feel something is wrong you keep calling x

I felt the same like they didn’t want me to be there and couldn’t be bothered I know they do long hours and it’s a tough job but no need for the amount of disrespect that came from some of them not just me but also my mum and partner x

honestly when I called the first time all I wanted was some advise or try this & that see if she kicks… but she was just going on about 24 weeks which means nothing cause she’s been kicking for 3 weeks anyways xx

I think she wasn't saying that you won't feel before 24 weeks, but that they are never usually very consistent at that point

Yep had a bad experience when having a miscarriage last year. Was made to feel like I was wasting time really. Actually thought about changing hospitals this time as I didn't want to go back. 👎

you are your child’s voice! Never not ring up. If you feel like something is wrong always ring them and go up there to check everything is okay. I was up there 4/5 times a week due to previously having a premature baby. You’ve got this hun x

I honestly do feel and understand how they are feeling, over worked, under staffed but when the job becomes a chore that’s when you need to reconsider.

Honestly they just wasnt arsed.. like here we go first pregnancy, over reacting mother 😂

You’ll be told the same everywhere.🤷🏻‍♀️.

The don’t do NST before 26/28weeks the most they’ll do is listen to the HB.
Doesn’t matter how many weeks you’ve felt kicking they aren’t going to and can’t change the rules for you.

I'm really sorry to hear you have had a terrible experience, I can't really give advise. ino I was told when I found out I was pregnant that they (all midwifes and hospitals) get funny when you don't have your notes. I'm 3 months pp and I found arrow park staff and midwifes amazing! I even had to stay in 2days after labour and they were fab! Hopefully it turns round for you and you get a good experience for you and you little one 💕

they don’t make anything easy. I feel like since the beginning I haven’t had a clue what to do, who to talk to & what’s even going on.

Avatar

but I 100% disagree. I have felt her 70% of the day kick every day from 20 weeks.

She would kick when I ate chocolate everytime, she would kick like mad as soon as I get in the bath.

But to just go to nothing that’s what was concerning as for me it’s been consistent for 3 weeks straight.. just yesterday & today felt nothing all night & day.

But I can’t see what 4 days difference will make. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I was gonna go Liverpool woman’s but not heard much good things about them too 😂

Avatar

honestly feel like a dick going up, but mostly cause they was annoyed at me for not calling up but when I did that the first time I felt like she was making me feel stupid..

Like I literally felt her kick every day like all the time & more so at certain times.. for 3 weeks straight, so to go from that to nothing I was a bit worried & they was going on about 24 weeks but what’s 4 days.. 🥰 xx

Avatar

all I wanted was for them to listen to the heart beat… I never said otherwise…

I just said they set me up on the NST cause they thought I was 33 even tho I was 23.. AFTER they moaned that they would have to go get my notes off the computer.

Please re read above.

It’s sucks. But what you’re describing is standard procedure.
I do agree they could have a bit less attitude. I have never been made to feel like I’m wasting someone’s time and this is my third pregnancy.

but they meant you should have called triage before coming in, the first time you said you called your midwife, so that is different
