Ask local churches. If they don’t have any programs, they may be able to suggest one. Also ask at food pantries. Even if you are not going there for food, which, by the way, there’s no shame in doing, they likely know of other organizations you can contact.

Call your county social services building or go down there with your recent pay stubs and tell them you need to collect unemployment, you’re a single and unemployed mom!

Yeah call the county offices, but if you made a base year amount of 13,000 from a certain time and within a year… also you didn’t have it prior yet within the same year. You’ll get it, they’ll just have you do Id me online. I was approved within a week and a half. If they did fire you for being with your sick son it is a form of discrimination and unreasonable accommodation (unless you didn’t give proper documentation) they can say it hurt them and they had no one else to fill your position but they as well have to prove that. You’ll only get FMLA if you’re with a job for a year. If not than you can go to the EEOC and file a complaint and talk to them about it.

@Lauren if the company has more than 4 employees it doesn't matter its illegal I'd speak to a lawyer and the department of labor
