Does anyone know that if you bring a cat to the emergency room, do they charge before or after services? Will they deny treatment if we can’t afford to pay in the moment? I think my male cat has a UTI he seems to be in so much discomfort. We owe Banfield $280 and have been working on making payments so we can’t bring him there, plus it’s not an emergency care facility and this seems more of an urgent issue. Such horrible timing but Idk how long my cat can handle without treatment and Im scared.

Usually afterwards, some vets will do payment plans as well.
There is also something called care credit, you can get interest free help for vet care, as long as you pay it back within 12 months.

I second Ciara's comment care credit is very useful for times like this! Plus vets are doctors. A doctor will treat a patient, it's a billing office that sends a bill. The vet wants your kitty to be okay. Just get a care credit card (very easy to get at the vet office) and just pay it off as you can over a year. He'll be treated and you'll be fine financially. Gotta love them boy cats they will give you a run for your money some days 😂💕
Yes emergency vet clinic, opposite to your regular vet, will be more expensive and they can ask to pay upfront. But carecredit is amazing and most vets take it.

It should be! It's a 2nd option for those who can't afford it. We got it the day we closed on a house and literally had $0 to our name . It's like a regular credit card too so yea if you wait longer to pay it you'll have fees, but it's meant for this babe
