Kindle or physical books?

I'm a massive lover of physical books and put off the idea of getting a kindle til last year. I love being able to read anywhere and anytime. The books tend to be a lot cheaper too and kindle unlimited is brilliant

I've always been a physical book reader but I've bought a kindle in preparation of the long breastfeeding hours at night. I love it, much more convenient (to take to work, in public transport or even to read at night in bed without using a light that would disturb my husband). I still buy physical books too when they're pretty 😇

I’ve always been a physical book gal too, but liked having a kindle for the kindle unlimited books. Since having my little boy it’s been a god send. I read during contact naps and in bed without having to put a light on. Also books do tend to be cheaper. I would 100% say it’s worth it!

I love both but I find a kindle is so much easier to read one handed when breastfeeding my baby through the day and night feeds. Also they are great for contact napping which my little girl does.

I have been weighing up the pros and cons of both and there are definitely more pros to the kindle as it’ll be much easier for me to read when contact napping or even in bed x

I have a kindle, but also love physical books! I tend to read 1 physical and 1 kindle book, I’d 100% say it’s worth it I’ve had my kindle for over 6 years and it’s great for holidays and night time reading :)

Could someone explain what kindle unlimited is? Not sure if I should get it x

I defo prefer my ereader. I have a kobo instead of kindle. But i love that i have all my books everywhere i go without the weight and i love the backlight for when baby is sleeping and i love thst i only need 1 hand when cuddling baby xxx

It's a monthly subscription, and there are thousands of books you can download. You can have 10 at a time downloaded to your Kindle but you can swap them out if you find something else you'd rather read. There is no limit on how many you can read per month.

No limit at all. There are loads of free books on there as well. There are also events where certain books are free, which you would normally have to pay for. If you read more than say 5 (as an example) books per month, it works out cheaper to get it (for me anyway). You can have kindle unlimited and still buy books, there's loads for 99p as well.

You can download the kindle app on your phone and use that to try out whether you'd use an ereader, or look into your local library ebook app (mine uses BorrowBox)

I love physical books but I am glad I gave in and got a kindle. It's much more convenient when out & about or going away not to have to pack books. I tend to only get kindle books that are on a deal as I still prefer an actual book but it saves space & can be more convenient!

I LOVE my kindle. You buy a book, read it and then it sits in a drawer/shelf. Books are cheaper on there, you can see minutes left of book/chapters. Honestly they’re great x

I’m pretty much sold on getting one now 😂 I’ve always loved going into a bookshop as it reminds me of being a child but I don’t have the space to store the amount of books I have and I can never bring myself to donate them 😂 xx

yes that was my problem! You can pay monthly as well for kindle subscription depending on how much you read and you get loads of really good books included. I find the only downside is sharing books with friends/family. They’ll ask to borrow ones after I say they’re good and I have to say no sorry it’s on the kindle 😂😂

I suppose I’m lucky in that aspect as I’m the only big reader in my family/group of friends 😂 I just wanted to get back into reading now I have a set routine with my baby and this seems to be the best way to do it xx

If you have always been a physical book lover I say stick to that. Only true book lovers know the smell of an actual book hehe

I've always been a physical book readers. But once I've read a book, I can't get rid of it... even if I don't plan on reading it again.

So I bought a kindle. Rarely used my kindle. But found recently, I'm reading kindle on my phone more because it's so easy to take a book round on my phone haha
So I guess I'm 50/50 at the moment xx

I love both physical book and kindle. Kindles are small and easy to carry around in a bag if travelling.

I prefer physical books but use my kindle alot. It's just more convenient and especially for those kind of books you read only once it doesn't clog up your bookshelf! It's also great for travelling if like me you need 2-3 books on the go at one time! I would definitely buy physical for reference books or if I really enjoy a book and feel I would read it several times I will get a physical copy also.

They are great and handy to have. Haven't used mine in so long because I prefer a physical book but may well go back to it because it's handy when I'm awake at 3am 😂
