My son is 4 months old and since he was 4 weeks old we went from using water and cotton pads to clean him to Huggies wipes and we also use Lidl nappies.
For the past 2 weeks every time we wipe him in his creases and his bum it goes immediately red. We always dry him really really well after using wipes. I even went to using water and cotton wool for a little bit to just calm it down. When I next go to change him it’s still a little red but not as bad then as soon as I wipe in that area it immediately goes red again. (We have been using nappy cream - aquaphor which always works amazingly)
On his top part he goes red and he’s had tiny little red dots appear aswell.
He’s also sometimes gone red under his belly button where the nappy sits.
We’ve always used these wipes and nappies. The past week we have bought Huggies extra sensitive wipes and the expensive pure water wipes aswell and I feel like I’m getting the same outcome.
So my question is could he be allergic to the wipes suddenly and the nappies? Any one else had this? Should I change nappies to see if that’s the cause?

Could well be the nappies, try a different brand and see if that makes a difference

It’s possible. Mine was allergic to the sensitive brand of nappies. Switch to just using plain water and cotton to clean baby until it clears up. Then do a test to see if it happens again. Also read the ingredients to help you see what could be the cause.

My baby just turned 4 months today, been having the same issue for a few weeks.
It only jussttt started getting better (less red) because I try to just rinse in the sink as much as possible instead of only using wipes and also I started using Cetaphil diaper cream. It’s noticeably less red and much better now. I also alternate with aquaphor and cerave baby petroleum jelly.
There’s an app called “Yuka” which is great, it tells you every ingredient in a product (nappies and wipes included) and highlights what might be irritating for baby.

We couldn't use Huggies. Use pampers harmonia aqua and aldi nappies since about 4 weeks old and haven't swapped.

ahhh my baby is 4 months old today aswell! Same birthday😅
And I’ll get the diaper cream your on about, I also have the Yuka app it’s great, thankyou!

Haha wow birthday twins! Happy 4 Months to your little bubba 🥳 Yes do try it out, just got the Cetaphil diaper rash cream this week and it’s already made a difference. Hoping it helps you too.
