NCT classes vs NHS antenatal

Can anyone explain the main differences between the two?

And is anyone thinking of doing NCT classes? It's a bit of money but heard the friends you make are worth it!

I’m booked in for NCT course, as it’s after work so my husband can come too (NHS one was only during work hours and he is saving time off). NCT one is also 5 sessions of 3 h each, while the NHS I was offered was only 3h, so I imagine they cover a lot more stuff in more detail. Also I was recommended it because of the social aspect as well, many parents stay friends and meet up for years after!

I loooed at NCT but they were so expensive and they aren’t run by midwives.
Thankfully I found private antenatal classes locally which were AMAZING (and run by a midwife) - facts no bullshit, and 1/4 the price of NCT!
Well worth it for me x

I think it depends what you’re looking for really.

I didn’t do it with my first baby as I knew the information I needed and I had already planned quite a few different baby groups to join to make mum friends

Lots of mums I’m friends with are already not really in touch with their NCT friends (my first born is 11 months for reference) but see their baby group friends 3-5 days a week!

If you’re going purely for the information then I would say it’s worth it xx

That's interesting as it probably was more for the social side!
