I am going to start weaning at 6 months. My eldest is 6 so feel like I’ve forgot it all. Really not sure whether to do puree or blw. I feel like I need some examples of anyone else’s day to get an idea of what to do. Starting all over again help 😩

So I'd recommend a couple Instagram pages first: Solid Starts and TheBabyDietician. How to Wean Your Baby by Charlotte Stirling-Reed is a great book. I follow her pattern where for example I offer baby both a steamed large bit of Broccoli so she can handle it and feed herself, and also a bit of it mashed/pureed so she gets used to different textures. It's all about getting them to learn to chew and move their tongue, but also providing them with nutrient-dense meals to get the most bang for your buck. I'd start with one meal at breakfast time so that any tummy issues can ease by night time
You may also want to consider introducing the main 9 allergens (detailed in the book) as soon as possible
Good luck, promise its fun once you get into it! Trust your gut, you've been here before you can do it 💪🏽
Thankyou all x

I’ve done a mix of both as my babies fine motor skills are quite delayed so he was struggling to get food to his mouth and was getting angry. We started with purée and when he eventually started holding the spoon himself I introduced solids and he started feeding himself and now we BLW with no purées xxx

I feel exactly the same my eldest is 6 too and feels more like a minefield this time around..should be easier 😆
I hope so! X

I did some reading last night and it jogged my memory that I started off with solids 1 hour after the 7am milk with my first daughter. Then after a couple of weeks an hour after the 11am milk etc. my first dropped her 11am feed pretty quick from what I remember as she ate a lot. Second baby is a lot bigger so bless her I think she's more than ready just holding off until the weekend so my partner can be there for her first few solids. Hope you get on ok! xx
