Most of my posts are of me being annoyed now but i went to my appointment today and the ob laughed at me when i said I’d consider a natural birth without epidural. She literally said there’s no way you’ll do that so don’t even think about it and she laughed. But I didn’t laugh so she when on to say how the pain is the worst pain ever (not really helping much). Maybe I’m being hormonal about it but it just pissed me off. My husband always sides with the doctors and that pisses me off more 🤦🏻♀️ sorry vent over but yea

i’m wanting to not have an epidural too and the amount of people trying to talk me out of it is frustrating. your ob should be validating what you want, not trying to change your mind.

My Ob told me I was obese and was giving me a hard time. I told her she was bigger than me(and she was), so what was her excuse? I got a different OB.

😂😂😂 savage
But I think it’s too late to change clinic/ob

She also laughed at me for wanting gas and air during the birth and when I asked if they can provide she was gobsmacked???

I don’t understand I feel like doctors are supposed to be there for you to reassure you etc but instead they make snide remarks that really aren’t helpful even when they’re the incompetent ones ?? I mean not booking your ultrasound for you is so low grade

omg thank you so much I will look into all of that! I’ve been very undecided about the whole thing but the way she went about it today just wasn’t nice you know - I like to think I have high pain tolerance considering I’ve got endometriosis and a few other things but she clearly thought otherwise 🤦🏻♀️

honestly same! Not one person apart from this app has been supportive of it even though I’ve been so subtle even when it’s mentioned

@Eva never too late. I fired my first doctor with my first baby as I was going into labor. Had an NP deliver instead. 😌 Gobsmacked? I've worked in medical care for a while. You're lucky if you get a provider that cares. Some providors only worry about lawsuits or their own wallet. Hospital staff is probably the most compassionate staff.

How incredibly rude of her!
I switched doctors at 37 weeks because mine wasn’t being as supportive as I would have liked. So glad I made the switch. My current doctor is much more like a midwife, but still an OB.
Also know that fear inhibits oxytocin which is needed for contractions to progress normally, and will stall labor if unmedicated. This is a big reason I switched. I knew I didn’t feel comfortable with my old OB and it might stall my hormones and labor.

its actually a bunch of ob’s that rotate so depends on who I get on the day 🤦🏻♀️ I’ve tried to change in the beginning but everywhere else was full

totally agree but everywhere else near me is full because I tried to go elsewhere at beginning of my pregnancy and was just put on waitlists 🤷🏻♀️

I know right?! And just very unprofessional I thought!! Caught me by surprise but I can’t switch now I’ve tried before believe me lmao.
That’s a good point about oxytocin I hope I have a good doctor on the day!! 🙏🏼 and honestly I don’t even mind getting the epidural if I feel like I need it on the day but I really want to try natural 🤷🏻♀️ idk

@Eva Im really sorry. Hopefully, you will have a good advocate in the delivery room with you when you give birth.

Horrible!! I’d put a complaint in after baby comes or write a review at the least because that is so unprofessional.

thank you I hope so too 🙏🏼

I know I was completely caught off guard tbh! I probably will but I just hope everything goes well either way 🤷🏻♀️🙏🏼
