Theatre / cinema

Seems like a ridiculous question but 30 weeks here and is it safe to go to a west end show and the cinema?

Yes. I’ve got a Ne-Yo concert in two weeks💀 other than the fact I’ll probably be sat down for most of it, NHS and other sources say it’s fine in terms of the sound exposure, but I double checked with midwife and it is just don’t sit too near speakers x

I went to both the theatre and cinema last week at 30 weeks, the only thing I’d say is I was so uncomfortable on the tiny, hard theatre seats, the cinema was much more comfortable!

I watched wicked a lot earlier on in my pregnancy and I’ll be honest I regretted it. The seats were very uncomfortable and I ended up with a really sore back. I think a cinema has more comfortable seats

I went to see Stranger Things in London theatre over the weekend... I'm 27 weeks. It was a bit jumpy in places but yes very safe. The only thing was how uncomfortable i was in the seat as I've got awful lower back pain/sciatica but it's ofcourse completely safe.

I had the same question as I have tickets for an opera and a musical at 32 weeks.

My midwife said is absolutely fine, the only thing she told me is that baby might move a bit more because of the noise and that even though baby will be fine I might be quite uncomfortable in the theatre chairs. 😅

i’m 30 weeks now and watching peter kay at 31 weeks and michael mcintyre at 33 weeks 🫣 my main concern is needing to keep getting up for wee breaks 🤣

My midwife said concerts are fine but stay away from speakers or areas where you will feel vibrations

I did go to a jazz concert a while ago and found it sooo loud that I was uncomfortable

I think I’m more sensitive to sounds now

I went to the cinema at the weekend and booked seats at the back and took a small back cushion and neck pillow which helped

You should be absolutely fine! I just went to London for a concert where I stood for three hours lol I was in the back away from the crowd but it was nice
