Don’t know how to cope!

My 8 month old has always been on a smaller side however, since we started nursery he has been having one bug after another. Is hardly eating and further losing weight. He will be 9 months on the 1st of March and weighs around 8kgs (17.6 lbs). I am really getting stressed out. Got a GP appointment tomorrow. This is making so overwhelmed that I can’t focus on anything. Any mum advice x

It’s hard when they catch bugs because they lose their appetite. Is there anyway you could keep your baby home for a while to let him recover? You could also book in with health visitors and they will help with dietary changes etc and weigh baby every month.

My little girl is 8.5 months and weighs 8kg, she’s always been this size! Are there any foods he’ll eat that you could add calories too, eg: cream cheese spread on toast adds some more calories and good protein rather than just buttered toast. Mixing avocado into yoghurt?

Taking a week off from work x

unfortunately he also has cow milk protein allergy and that really restricts me with what I can feed him x

Maybe try offering him smaller amounts but more often throughout the day? They do lose their appetites when they’re poorly. Is he taking milk or uninterested in that too?

Hey have you tired natural nut butters? I made a meal the other day sweet potato, cannelloni beans and used almond butter instead of diary cheese. Baby loves it. Good way to swap out stuff like cheese and still get protein.
