When to take baby to beach/pool.

Baby girl is 5 weeks currently. I want to take her to the beach and pool and go in the water as soon as i can. When did you bring your LO’s?

It's a personal preference for sure. There are pro's and cons to taking babies to the beach or pool at a younger age. I'm not sure if you have ever heard of ISR but it's a great life saving swimming program that teaches babies as young as 6m to save their own lives. Taking little ones to the beach is normally a mouth full of sand or spending a lot of time under some sort of pop up and in my personal experience not too enjoyable. I would wait until the child is at least two or older to take to the beach. However I'm not really a big beach person myself so I might be biased on wanting to wait even later. I do however have an 8m of my own as well as a 7 year old and 9 year old and I'm sure we will hit the pool and beach this summer. My currently 8m only will be around a year old once summer hits.

I'm a nurse and as far as I know if it's public water 6 months. Pools that are public usually have a lot of chlorine. 2 months if it's your own pool. Beach you have to use a lot of sunblock usually not suitable for babies under 4 months . I've taken my newborn in the evening with light muslin cloth blanket
