Hi everyone. I’m 8 weeks pregnant and went for an early scan yesterday and unfortunately there was no heartbeat (regular scan and internal scan). I’ve been referred to the Early pregnancy unit at our hospital but they said I have to wait 7 days for a rescan and if I haven’t naturally miscarried they will do it medically. Has anyone gone through this before and if so, is it really possible to not miscarry naturally? It feels weird walking around “pregnant but not really” and the 7day wait feels quite daunting.

I carried my first MMC for 7 weeks before my mva (found a 13+3) and my second for 4weeks before i passed everything at home. It’s an awful awful time. X

Hi lovely sorry for your loss, I experienced this in September I had my twelve week scan but the baby had stopped growing at 9 weeks I waited a further two week for my body to naturally miscarry but nothing happened so I had the medication

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I had this in April last year. Went for a private scan at 10 weeks to be told growth had stopped at 8 weeks. Was booked into EPU the next day to confirm with internal scan and then told to go back 2 days later for the op to remove. It’s such a horrible feeling. Everyone deals with it differently. I decided to have a complete clear out at home to keep me busy while I was waiting to go in x
Thank you all sorry you also had to go through this x I haven’t had any bleeding at all during this pregnancy hence why I’m thinking it’ll have to wait the 7 days. Did you get a choice of medication or surgery or do you have to try medication before surgery?

I didn’t have any bleeding either. I was given the option of waiting for it to pass naturally at home, or have the op awake or put under. I originally opted to be put under but on the day there was a backlog for theatre so I ended up having the same procedure done but awake. I wasn’t in the right mind frame to be able to deal with it at home hence the reason I opted for the surgical option. I needed it to be over and done with x

I went through this last June so so sorry for your loss. I had the surgical route as I felt this was the best option as you are asleep and don't see anything that comes out as alot of people find it quite traumatising to see. This is My personal experience everyone is different. It's a day case so home sane day to start healing xx

I’m so sorry for your loss, I have recently gone through this myself. They do offer you surgery or medical management so you can pick whichever you want straight away and I can only speak from my experience but I had to do the medical management twice and it still didn’t work and I had to go back for the surgery anyway and it dragged on for months so research your options well

So sorry this has happened to you 🙏

I had a missed miscarriage in 2019. Went for my 12 week scan but baby was only measuring 9 weeks with no heartbeat. I had medical management to help me pass the baby. So sorry for your loss 👼💕

I’m going through that right this moment. Message if you would like to talk 💕
sorry you’re also going through this 💚
thank you x congrats on your new baby 😍

I am so sorry. I had a MMC last year and it was the hardest thing I ever had to do.
My baby stopped growing at 8w2d and I didn’t miscarried until I was 13w3d along. It can take up to five weeks from when baby stopped growing to pass naturally. Not sure what your baby measured at the scan but it could take awhile to happen naturally.
I totally understand the feeling of “being pregnant but not”. When we found out the baby died, my husband offered me a glass of wine and I said no. Because it felt wrong knowing I still had a baby in there, even if it was dead. From finding out (at 12w5d) that baby didn’t have a heart beat, it was 5 days of limbo. Not knowing if and when it was going to happen. And honestly those five days were hell. I didn’t want to leave my house in fear of it starting while I was at work or out and about.
I don’t have much advice but know you’re not alone. It can take awhile before you miscarry naturally. sometimes it’s better & quicker to have medical intervention

So sorry for your loss hun , I had a missed miss carriage went for my dating scan everything was fine then booked a private scan for gender one and to be told baby had no heartbeat I should've been 17 weeks but baby passed at 13 weeks but my body didn't realise and go through process so I had to go into hospital to have the baby here if you want to.chat and message me big hugs hun ❤️ xxx

My baby stopped growing at 7 weeks 2 days and they kept re-checking me so I was about 11 weeks before I actually had surgery to remove the pregnancy. I never bled at all. I don’t think my body wanted to let go 😞 I’m so sorry for your loss

I had a D&C that way it was over and done with.
