Baby weight gain

My LB was born 7lbs4 and on 25th centile at 6 weeks his weight, length and HC went to the 50th…I was so fed up with some comments recently that I booked to have him weighed and now really wish I didn’t. He is 18lbs5 now at 20 weeks and his weight has jumped 3 more centiles, has to have a weight review in a few weeks and the HV said if he is still continuing to gain weight then he will need to be referred to have investigations. Has anyone else had this?

You can’t win hun either way! I’ve been told I’m not feeding my son enough because he only sits on the 2nd centile yet he’s gaining constantly (all be it small amounts but a gain is a gain in my eyes) he eats what he wants when he wants… he’s recently upped his milk intake massively so hopefully that will satisfy them when we see them again but honestly made me feel so deflated when they said he wasn’t feeding enough and I was to feed him every 3 hours without fail (doesn’t work for us as he won’t drink it if he doesn’t want it)… your baby is happy and healthy… nothing wrong with a bigger baby, he’ll even out when he’s moving xx

yeah exactly it’s so disheartening isn’t it! I only went out of curiosity and now I wish I hadn’t have bothered! It would be nice if a HV could tell us mums we were doing great once in a while wouldn’t it 🙈 xx

Ours was 8lbs4oz on 75th centile and is currently 22lbs 11oz and well above the top centile now at 19 weeks. We were referred to dietician who discharged us without even talking to us because he isn't on solids so we now have a referral to a pediatrician just to rule out anything medical that could be causing it. LB seems healthy in himself but better to get it all checked out so at least if there is nothing medically wrong then we know
