Weaning

Just a quick one, What time does everyone feed there baby 'food', we will be starting our weaning journey soon and I really don't want to do it in the morning due to my husband not being here. Would 5pm onwards (when he's home) be okay to do it? I'm so convinced something will go wrong and I really want someone with me, plus if she has a reaction I don't drive.

It isnt recommend to do new foods near bedtime. Some allergic reactions can be delayed. So ita recommend you start new foods as early in the day as possible to keep an eye on them.
I know before weaning my first baby i watched a few videos of safety and what to do if they choke xx

Also
It isnt recommended to for under 1's but with both of my children ive had multiple doctors give me/ tell me to get piriton to have at home just incase. You give the lowest dose (mine says 2.5ml) and it works almost instantly. The side effect is it makes them drowsy. Better drowsy than the worst!!

My first daughter had a very delayed reaction to peanuts. I thought she was fine. Put her down for a nap and when i was changing her nappy after her nap i noticed her whole body was rashed.

My son now 5 months has been having daily hives luke reaction to my breastmilk for 2 weeks now šŸ™ƒ drs have said to give piriton daily until the problem is resolved.

I hope this helps xxxd

I do them at lunchtime so there is plenty of time before bed if anything does go wrong (šŸ¤ž so far only had spitting out foods he doesn't like).

You could try doing them only on the weekends when your partner is home to start with (assume he has days off even if not strictly sat/sun). They don't need to have "solids" everyday to start with until you get some confidence up. Then you can stick to safe foods when hubby isn't home and try new ones when he is there. X

I'm starting my baby girl today. Will try her just at lunch time each day for a week or 2. I'll feed her around 12-12:30ish. Always just do what's best for you and your baby.

My daughter is almost six months now. I’ve started her on purĆ©es around lunch time but only in small amount. I want her to know the texture first. I’m feeding her not as ā€œfoodā€ but more like getting to know textures. She wants to taste even in the evening as well. That is also very small amount. But it’s the same food that I have tried in the afternoon.
Everyone’a routine is different. Try getting your baby to taste food and then start. Hope it helps.

Do you have time to do a taste before he goes to work at least? If you are that nervous of a severe reaction then do it before he goes to work. Or do you have a friend or grandparents that can come round whilst you're introducing solids? You are much better off doing earlier in the day, not just to monitor for any reaction but also it can take time for babies tummies to adjust and can cause discomfort which you'd ideally want out of the way before bedtime.

To be honest I feed her at 5:30 ish and she goes bed at 7:30 only because I’m so scared to feed her on my own and want to make sure my partners here xxx

@Sanam We could do before he goes to work but we have 2 other children aswell to get sorted and ready for school and I don't want there to be any distractions
