it differs from each baby. as long as she isnt showing signs of hunger after feeding then you arent under feeding. my baby eats about 2oz every 2-3 hours and he is a month old but he is also a premie

my baby just turned 7 weeks today, went to the doctor about a week ago and was told i was “feeding her too much” because she was eating 4 ounces every feed, yet my little girl will act like she is STARVING if i give her anything less lol

3.5-4oz seems fairly normal, that’s pretty much where we were at at 6 weeks. But everg baby is different, I wouldn’t dwell on comparing your LO to others. It definitely depends how often your LO is feeding, weight gain, etc. It might help to check with your pediatrician to put your mind at ease.
As long as baby is fed and doing well, you do what works for both of you.

I might be dumb lol, but what is LO?

My baby girl is seven weeks old and I just saw a lactation specialist last week and was told that babies will typically stay within 3-5 oz per feed. That is if you are feeding your baby breast milk. It’s different if it’s formula. That’s where you will typically see oz’s going up much higher.

My lil guy is 6 weeks old and usually does 4oz during the day between 2-3 hrs and then will do 5oz during the night usually only between 12am-7am usually has one feed between 12-2 and one feed between 5-7.

Today for some reason he went down to 3 for several of his feeds.

I stressed a bunch when we first started formula about how many ounces especially after I heard that you could overfeed a baby on formula especially if you have PPD (I don’t) but it made me question my instincts a bit. I’m at the point where I’m trying to just follow his hunger cues and not stress about it too much.

It’s hard because we want to do what’s right but I think the best thing is trusting your instincts and following the babies lead on this topic. She will definitely let you know if she’s still hungry! If your little one seems satisfied on what she is getting right now then I’d say you are fine. Every baby is different.
