I personally do not think it’s wrong to continue the pacifier. Most dentists recommend stopping by 3. I’ve always considered that one day you can take the pacifier away, but you can’t take his hand/fingers away if he resorts to pacifying using that instead. If I could give you some advice, I do not give my son his pacifier unless its being used for sleep, that way when it’s time to go on without his pacifier in the future, I only have to worry about not having it for sleep- but to each their own. Don’t be so hard on yourself. You’re doing great mama.

My son still uses his and we are trying to limit his time with it. He’s not talking yet and I think the binky is one of the problems holding him back. HOWEVER, he has major meltdowns when he sees it and I don’t let him have it. I’ve been just slowly trying to let him use it less and less. Some days he needs it more than others.
Just keep an eye on his teeth for any warning signs! I wouldn’t push for him to drop it right away, especially if he’s biting himself to the point of bleeding. I would just try to use it less and less day by day.
I’m also planning on bringing my son to the dentist to make sure his binky is not causing any harm and to make sure his mouth health is right on track!
