TLDR: My LO will be 2 in April and I am *over* breastfeeding and ready to night wean! Tips/tricks and words of encouragement please 🙏🏻
I cosleep with my LO and he very much relies on boob to get back to sleep after his first wake (my partner can get him to sleep at the top of the night by walking him back and forth in our room but after that first wake he’s only comforted by me it seems!) he sleeps literally on top of me and I’ve never even managed to get him to just sleep next to me in the bed! He wakes frequently and I normally just swap him from boob to boob all night 🫣 but I’m definitely ready to be done now!
Does anyone have any tips with what worked for them to help resettle their babes in the night? 💕

The night weaning guide by infantsleepscientist is a good one! I've purchased it and read up for when we are ready to wean!
Keep in mind that night weaning won't necessarily reduce night wakes, so if you do wean it might make nights more difficult! I thought I was ready when she was around 18m but going to wait til around 3 now because she's still a garbage sleeper and I'm just not ready to deal with layering other techniques to sleep! Life is too hectic haha.

I’ve heard good things about the layering techniques.. good luck! I’m very hopeful my little will wean herself 😅

Ah.. have you tried offering water in the night? I feel like that was a suggestion in a comment, they might wake a little thirsty like we can and a little sip of something helps?

Absolutely fair, that’s why we’ve waited for long to do it tbh because I’ve just picked the path of least resistance and most sleep but the scratching and pinching in his sleep is so bad especially round my period so something has to change 🫣

I haven’t as I normally just throw him on the boob especially as sometimes it’s not a true wake he’s just half woken up and crying if that makes sense! He never seems to be calm enough/awake enough for me to try that but will definitely give it a go! Thank you!
