Has anyone vaped their entire pregnancy & had a healthy baby?

I didn’t vape my entire first trimester, but I’ve been super stressed and picked up vaping in my second trimester. All OB appointments the baby has been fine and no defects from the scans. I vaped 3% nicotine then went back up to 5%. I’m worried about autism, mental delays, heart & lung health but I’m addicted. What can I do?

Right here!! And my happy, healthy lil 5 month old is here to reassure you. I vaped from day one until I was in labor and the nurse came in to stay 😂 I also smoked at least a joint a day (I was smoking an ounce in 3 days before I found out so going down to 1-4grams a day was SOOOOO hard for me) she is sitting and trying to crawl, suppperrr talkative. She’s right on track in every way

what percent of nicotine and how much did you vape? I’ve see other mothers on here and they said there babies are completely fine. I plan to quit starting tomorrow, I just wanted to read positive posts from other mothers who’s struggled with the same issue ❤️

I am, but unless you’ve dealt with nicotine or any addiction don’t judge because it’s definitely not about wants; it’s dealing with withdrawal.

I vaped for 5 years and quit when I found out I was pregnant. I rather not risk my childs health but to each their own 🤷🏾‍♀️ giving something up for 9 months isn’t as bad as (possible) lifelong health issues that could’ve been avoided.

.5% I think. It’s always been disposables. I was really worried about baby but every time she didn’t want me smoking, weed or nicotine, she let me know. At first nicotine was like normal, all day every day but by my second trimester I was smoking less than half as much then almost not at all by my 3rd

I didn’t vape- as soon as I was pregnant the vape would make me throw up (but I had HG so air also made me throw up lol). I do know people who vaped the whole time and people who didn’t.

It sounds bad but I vaped my entire pregnancy the only thing that is considered “wrong” with him is he doesn’t talk as much as other (almost) 2 yr olds but I think that’s his personality bc he’s shy

I vaped the first few months and then stopped because i was so scared but nicotine withdrawal was terrible i would get banging headaches so now i use tobacco free nicotine pouches which have helped sooo much

My OB recommended to slow down and to stop if possible, it's less stress on the baby then going cold turkey.i vaped probably up to 4-5 months and then was able to stop. I have a healthy beautiful baby girl who's actually ahead of the curve! I would recommend speaking to your OB if you're comfortable with it.

Autism is genetic don’t worry about it. And consuming nicotine or weed has it’s risks as does anything but I been vaping THC most of my pregnancy although I’m still pregnant I’m almost 30 weeks and my baby is 100% healthy no problems and I switched to CBD due to anxiety and my baby is okay. I feel like stress is more harmful tbh lol so take it easy and be kind to yourself.

I vapes my entire pregnancy with my son and he is perfectly healthy

You can switch to 0% vapes if you think that will be helpful. I’ve got more of a physical habit/addiction so this works for me. I went from 5% to the 0% and luckily didn’t have any nicotine withdrawals. 17 weeks now and every check up I’ve had so far, baby boy seems to be growing as expected and his heartbeat is very healthy.

I vaped my first two pregnancies. It was extremely difficult to quit. Like very hard. My babies are 4 and 3 now and absolutely healthy from birth. I wouldn’t recommend doing it by any means. Quit if you can! Just here to say my experience. It may not be that outcome for everyone. I’m pregnant with twins currently and decided to do a smoking program to quit vaping because it’s high risk. The OB set me up with the program (but I asked about it). But in exchange for clean saliva tests I get gift cards every month for diapers. I’m embarrassed it hasn’t been something that I could just immediately give up. But I’ve had a nicotine addiction for 8+ years so giving myself grace. I did everything else right during my pregnancies. You’ve got this momma!

they didn’t try taking your baby or call cps ???

Avatar

nah dude. They never knew. I told the doc when we meet I was a pot smoker and she said “if you need it for nausea or sleep definitely stick to edibles” I said okay and kept smoking. Nothing ever came of it.

Avatar

Then again I also took kratom for my 1st and 2nd trimester which is very very controversial as there is almost no scientific research on kratom during pregnancy. So I full sent it hoping for the best. Now my husband wants me to take kratom with this pregnancy too for my mood and to see if the next baby develops just ahead of schedule like our daughter has been.

I am marked on my file that I smoke it for my PTSD and bipolar disorder so they’ll probably test me when I have my baby..

Avatar

they do it randomly when I’m admitted in the hospital too before pregnancy

Avatar

That’s illegal in a recreational or medically legal state they need probable cause or at the very least to tell you before the test. If they don’t they don’t have the right to use the test against you. Especially in court as it was “illegal obtained”

Avatar

Telling any dr you smoke is technically “probable cause “

Avatar

I live in Ohio so they made weed legal here but I never hear of them warning pregnant mamas not to smoke before only to stop and here’s help and blah blah blah , but my brain isn’t all the way there anymore since being pregnant so what’s probable cause like don’t tell them?

Avatar

yeah pretty much or act high, smell like weed. But I don’t plan to tell anyone I’m smoking during this pregnancy

Avatar

do you plan on stopping at 20 weeks or 30 weeks just in case they do decide to test the baby

Avatar

What’s Kratum?

Avatar

In New Zealand, it’s recommended to use a vape as a smoking cessation tool. So a lot of people here vape through their pregnancy with no issues, all of my care team know I vape.

Avatar

I’m in TN. Very stressed, I’ve used delta 8 and THC. I need it for anxiety but it’s illegal here. I’ve not smoked since I’ve been pregnant. 13 weeks. I fight daily with it.
