My 16 mo is sick for the first time. We flew to visit family this week and 2 days into the trip both of us started getting sick. I don’t know if she picked it up on the plane or here, since there were sick people in the house (that I did not know about 🙃). She is very congested, runny rose, had a low fever off and on, really fussy and not eating much. I know it’ll take time to run it’s course and luckily we’re going home tomorrow, it’s just so sad and frustrating! Giving her saline and using a snot sucker multiple times a day which is torture! Just wondering if anyone had tips to make her feel better, or has been here with their little ones and knows what it’s like. Plus me feeling like absolute garbage doesn’t make anything better.

Ibuprofen if you can to help with fever

Yes! Try ColdCalm from Boiron. They have a version for babies and one for adults.
You can get it from Amazon or whole foods or since pharmacies sell it too.
Best thing is, it's natural and has no side effects...
Even my sceptical husband is meanwhile convinced after taking it when he had a cold

*some pharmaci

I’ll have to get some! Their teething drops worked really well for us

Yes, we love those too!

the brand “boogie” makes a saline mist inhaler for all ages and it helped me so much with the fighting to spray their nose!! and my savior when my daughter is sick is always a bath they love it and the warm air helps with their nose!!!

and make sure they’re hydrated too!

Try a vapor bath, oilogic baby brand.

Mortin and or Tylenol rotation every 4-6 hrs depending on the severity of fever. Trust me it helps!! Babies need that apart from all other tips given by other mamas above.

Definitely the Motrin and Tylenol for the fevers and to help her feel better but I also use Benadryl at night to help dry the nose up and help them breathe when sleeping. It's off-label but pediatrician recommended. My 20lb 16 month old takes 2.5 ml of the childrens liquid Benadryl

Onions on the bottom of her feet and socks soaked in vinegar to draw the fever out! I try to avoid medicines as much as possible but that’s just my personal preference. Also, when she’s sleeping, keep her head propped up. I used my old breastfeeding pillow for that & a humidifier. And hydrated with liquids she’ll tolerate or want to drink.
