Breast Pumps

I’m looking into choosing a breast pump with my insurance but am weighing out some options. If anyone has used the Spectra S1+, Elvie Double pump, or Elvie Stride, could you share your pros/cons?

Thanks!

I have the spectra 1 (blue) which I LOVE. The spectra can be used on a plug or on battery so that helped if needing to pump away from your pumping station or your outlet. Love the night light that it has for nighttime pumping, also like the different modes you can set it too. & It lasts pretty well on battery mode .

I loved it so much I got the Spectra 2 (pink) to have for my bedroom since this one does require to be plugged in to the wall. I have a 2 floor house so I made two pumping stations both with Spectra’s.

I ordered through my insurance the hands freee Lasinoh which will be for on the go, in the car, out of the home pump . Usually wearables don’t have as strong as a suction as your plugged in ones or spectra’s . I worked as a maternity unit and know the hospital grade version and to me Spectra’s hit that nail on the head.

The elvie is very expensive and a lot of insurances require you to pay additionally since it doesn’t cover the total cost which is a HUGE con for me.

My SIL had the Spectra S2 for her first baby and then upgraded to the Spectra Synergy Gold for her second. She got the Elvie Stride out of pocket to have a portable option (the Stride was more affordable for her). She loves and uses both. She gave away her Spectra S2.

I ended up getting the Spectra Synergy Gold through insurance and used my FSA to buy the Elvie Double.

When you go through insurance, you only have to pay the difference when you order it. I ordered my Spectra through Babylist and my insurance covered all but $10. It was super easy. Just had to send them the prescription from my doc via email.

And the Elvie I just ordered off of Amazon since I was using my FSA. I haven't used it yet, but I did clean it and download the app that is easy to navigate.
