Hi all,
I’m due in June and our mortgage renewal is up in January so I’ll still be on mat leave and I’ll be on statuary pay at that point. Does anyone know if this will affect our ability to remortgage?! Should we try to fix the price 6 months ahead whilst I’ll still have my usual pay/ pay slips from before being on mat leave?

We had to renew our mortgage last month and I’m also due in June. I would deffo recommend speaking to a financial advisor if you haven’t already and see what their professional advice would be. I’m certain that last 3 months of our payslips helped us get the best of the worst interest rates atm, I have no idea what they would have given us if my half of payslips were stat pay only x

We brought our home whilst I was on maternity leave, I had to get a letter from my job stating that I was returning, if it was full or part time and what my yearly salary would be on return. It was simple enough to do and had no issues, they also based it the last wage slips of my full time pay, so they accepted that the payslips were not in the last 3 months but the last 6 just so they could see the full pay going on monthly x

I actually had a higher return salary because of the increases so they also took that into account which got us a better rate at the time z

Thanks both! I’ll likely be returning 3 days and then move it up to 4 but will probably try to get it all tied up before I get to statuary!

Im due end of May and our remortgage is july. We have just done ours mainly because I didn’t want the added pressure of sorting that out once our baby arrives and before anymore rates go up. They do ask about financial changes but as long as they can see you will still be able to afford the payments you shouldn’t have an issue

We are remortgaging in August, our mortgage advisor is getting the ball rolling now. I’d advise speaking with your advisor as early as possible

I had to do the same as Shanice. They took my last 3 payslips when I was working before mat leave and just needed a guarantee I had a job to return to x
