Alternate calpol and ibuprofen to keep on top of it
Once you’ve given a dose give it an hour before rechecking temp to let it take effect…if you check too soon it doesn’t help the worry 😅
Keep up with fluids, don’t push solids but still offer as normal/yoghurts etc
Look for signs of dehydration
Let them sleep as much as they want, the body heals better during sleep!

Currently going through this with my little one xxx

my babies temp is now 35.4 which seems quite low. She’s had a dose of nurofen this morning and calpol not long ago😭

How have you got her dressed? Is she well in herself otherwise?x

unfortunately she had a cold before (so snotty nose etc) and cutting 3 teeth at the same time as now having a fever so she’s been much more aggy than usual. But when she’s had some medicine etc she still likes to play and that.
I had her in just a sleepsuit (no vest) yesterday because her temp would go up. I spoke to 111 who advised what you said to alternate calpol paracetamol and ibuprofen every 2 hours so I started doing that at about 4.30pm and her temp stayed around 36 and it’s still about that now. So now I’m just doing ibuprofen every 4 hours and checking her temp every hour.
Christ they really should talk you through and advise you of all this stuff before /after you’ve had a baby 😅😅😅 it’s so stressful and panicky

Hi how is your baby now? Did they have signs of why they were poorly, it’s good to give them medication to bring their temp down but it’s also important to try and work out why they have a temperature. Sometimes it can be just viral so you won’t always know why or be able to pinpoint the symptoms but it’s good to try, also if they have a high temp I’d probably let a doctor just check baby over to make sure they don’t have any concerns or feel they need to start antibiotics for an infection. Hope they are feeling better now x

I ended up taking her to hospital to get checked over. Everything seemed normal and Dr said just a viral infection she’s fighting and to keep on top of meds
