My health visitor told me I can get calpol for free from the pharmacy, how do I get it?? Do I just go up to the desk and ask for it?? Is there anything else we can get for free?
Thanks

If it is for their jags, you can take the appointment letter to the pharmacy. That’s how I got it

If your in Scotland you just go to boots and ask if you can get calpol under minor elements, they tend to give you boots own brand x

Ask for calpol on minor ailments

Minor ailments service! Look into it because there are other things on that service you can access x

Take your red book with you too

You don't need to bring anything. They just ask for the child's details. DOB, name, address. You even can get anti sickness tablets for traveling. I've been buying them for years and it wasn't till we changed pharmacies that we found out 🙈
Before you buy stuff it's always worthwhile to ask if it's covered by minor ailments. Every pharmacy has a list and can check x

You can do it at any pharmacy but it’s good to register baby/child with your local (or frequently used) pharmacy, they need their CHI number the first time but then they just ask the name and DOB. They’ll give u calpol and nurofen (or unbranded equivalent), you can get antihistamine, cough bottle, not sure what else tbh but if they can give u it they will.

Yeah you just go and say it's for your baby, I never quoted minor ailments, didn't know it was a thing. I also get anusol for hemorrhoid for free.

Yeah you can but it won’t be the calpol branded stuff. Annoying as my 6 year old doesn’t like anything else 🙃 you can get loads on minor ailments look it up xx

With red book you can get it. I've been getting free for my daughter who's 7 too even without the book. You just ask in pharmacy for free Calpol, paracetamol or ibuprofen and you'll get it

i was given Calpol more than once, depends on the pharmacy and availability. When I went to another pharmacy they gave me unbranded stuff but my old one used to give Calpol

You don't need to take anything it's under minor ailments. It's not only for children, there are options for adults minor ailments too. Such as UTI antibiotics and treatments. I work in the NHS and recently started working With NHS 24. Your pharmacy is actually great! Just go speak to them ❤️
