My experience was nice as I had a water birth there it was clean and also got to stay in a nice room after where the birthing centre was empty so it was quiet however they forgot to check my clots before I left and I got a clot infection

Terrible experience at RLH. I was low risk, overdue, my contractions were regular every 3-5 mins and very intense(back labour) but I was dismissed and sent home multiple times over 2 days and told to return only when 2 mins apart, saying “it’s normal”, “shes not even 2 cm dilated and already given up” etc. I literally begged them to give some form of pain relief, and when the pain got too much I sat on the hard plastic chair in waiting area and cried, and even then they commented “oh is the baby coming out”.
Out of desperation we requested for a c section as no one cared, that’s when they called the doctor who then said they would admit me and give epidural. I was put in a room but the epidural wasn’t given till 8 pm next day and only then I started relaxing and dilating. But my poor baby was stuck in the birth canal for so long, her heart rate dropped and I was rushed for emergency c section. She had maconium filled in her lungs and spent many days in NICU.

Becz of their negligence and delay, my baby could’ve died. The post care wasn’t great either. I had to walk to the NICU, multiple times a day to see my baby and feed her. It was a long walk and given my condition and stitches, it was difficult to say the least. I requested for wheel chair but they never came around, so I had to walk.
Of course if you have a planned c section or a low risk birth where you’re dilated enough to get admitted on time and medication on time, then your experience would be different.

My experience was good, although I ended up having an emergency C-Section. Good hospital but can sometimes be under staffed

the private room is free if you have low risk/water birth in the lotus ward. You are charged otherwise.

I had my first baby at RLH and the experience was not bad and straightforward for me and about to have my 2nd and chose RLH so hope it all goes well again

I avoided going here, if you look online at their official rating it’s ‘inadequate’ meaning it’s not safe or secure and clearly has issues

I will say i went to an “outstanding” hospital and had awful treatment and bullying, switched to an “inadequate” hospital and had the most amazing care and the difference was like night and day so i wouldnt take the rating as complete truth as i wish i ignored it originally and listened to the recommendations of going to my second hospital!

I didn't want to go there and had only heard negative things, but I ended up having the best care and was very impressed. My waters broke at 33+6 and I was in for 10 days. Every member of staff except one in 10 days was fantastic and kind. I was also given a private room for free as my baby was prem and they could tell I was struggling. I would happily have a future birth there!

my second pregnancies antenatal care was absolute filth, it was a constant change of midwife for each appointment, they were always running late, midwives were older ladies who were just judgemental and absolute ass. i even switched hospitals for antenatal care. however, i did give birth there with my second and the birthing team was absolutely amazing. they were understaffed, and there was no available beds when i was in active labour, which meant i was waiting 7 hours for the epidural, which i made clear i wanted as soon as possible (last birth was without pain relief and was traumatic), but then when the bed became available 6 hours later it took around an hour to get the epidural after that. my birthing team were absolute angels, the sweetest people in the world, who made my birth an absolute dream, especially after my first awful birth it meant the world to me, i’ll never forget my birthing team. i even had a point where my baby’s heart beat dropped very quickly-

to the point that it signalled a high chance of risk of my baby’s life, (i wasn’t doing a great job at pushing with the epidural), an emergency team was rushed in and they cheered and encouraged me with guidance and motivation, reassurance, before needing to worry about an emergency c section, my baby was born without the section thanks to them 💕

I had two of my babies there and we cannot be happier with the service we got. I was high risk both times so we stayed on delivery ward (which was my preference anyway to be closer to doctors just in case) - first birth was long with complications, second - back labor. I would definitely choose RLH again and again!
