I have been offering my baby water with his meals now we are weaning but he is barely swallowing anything, like maybe a couple of drips.
Is that ok? Or should I be checking that he is actually drinking some, even if it's a small amount. I don't want him to be going without water if he needs it or is it just for practise/learning at this stage?
He is using a tommee tippee sippy cup but hasn't got the hang of sucking the spout, keeping his mouth closed and swallowing it so it goes in and pours back out 😅

Mine is only having a little x

Mine is only having the smallest sips.

My boy has had a max of 40ml water with a puree meal at rhe moment. I have to bargain with him to get him to drink, give him a couple of spoons of puree and then hold the spoon away until he takes a couple of sips. Today we resorted to putting some in a milk bottle as he just refused the sippy cup (think he is coming down with something as he has been off all day), it some fluids in him but still not a lot.
Ok, I guess mines probably managing about 2 teaspoons (10ml) but it's hard to say!

I spoke to a paediatrician about this and she said to not worry at this stage x
