Mine was doing this for a while and I kept feeling really dizzy, went to the maternity assessment and they noticed on my notes that my iron stores were really low but my midwife forgot to ask the GP to prescribe my iron tablets! I’ve felt loads better since taking them now and very rarely get a high heart rate xx

My resting heart rate in the pregnancy has been as high as 113. Sitting down doing absolutely nothing. Apparently it’s somewhat normal x

Your blood volume increases when you’re pregnant by 30-50% as your blood is pumping more blood each minute your heart rate can increase unless it drastically shoots up or you have any other symptoms I would t be concerned unless a health professional is (which I am not) but I do remember my heart rate also being higher and this is what I was told x

I’ve recently been diagnosed with arrhythmia after noticing the same thing - heart would suddenly start racing and stay that way for hours, even at rest. My blood pressure was fine. The midwife wasn’t overly worried but suggested I contact my GP anyway so perhaps do that? My GP said it is totally normal to notice an increase in heart rate during pregnancy but there is a normal range (I can’t recall what she said this was), and mine was above this. I’ve been referred for further testing, including thyroid function, but have also been advised to come off one of my types of antisickness medications as it has been known to cause this issue - I have noticed a link as since stopping it, the palpitations have reduced/stopped (hard to say for certain but not noticing them like I was). There could be lots of things causing it, so I would definitely have it investigated, even just to set your mind at rest! ☺️

definitely normal to an extent. Your body is going through major changes. I would keep monitoring it and stay hydrated (3-4 L of water and no caffeine sources) because blood volume increases it’s expected that dizziness from a heart rate may happen. There’s not a ton they can do without it being accompanied by blood pressure changes too. The difference from the low and high would make me think POTS-like symptoms, but that can just be from the pregnancy too temporarily.
