I bought some for my twins last spring/summer and they never really wore them, but they were less active back then. They are now too small and I was going to get 2 more pairs, but my husband seems to think it’s just a waste of money because they can go from winter boots to shoes or crocs soon.

Might depend where you live but my 2.5 year old in Ontario loves jumping in puddles and the daycare yard isn’t always dry. He definitely needed them in the fall and will again this spring. But if you’re not outside a lot maybe you won’t need them. If cost is a factor it’s a great thing to get second hand because they grow too fast to wear them out

My 3yo likes jumping in puddles, but they still rarely wear their rain boots. Really I think they only wear them if it's actually raining out or if it's really wet out 🤷 if you're hesitant you can always get them second hand either at a thrift shop or you can ask on your local Buy nothing Canada group

I can't imagine not having them. My kids have all LOVED stomping in puddles. Every 8 year old still does. This time of year they have fun breaking the thin ice on the puddles.

Also my kids love their rain boots even when it's not raining because they are shoes that they cam easily get on and off themselves without help.

All the 2 year olds I know like puddle jumping 😆 I would suggest it if you get a lot of rain, or mud!

Thanks for the input! I was already leaning toward getting some for this year (2nd hand), so this just solidified it for me.

Buy them on marketplace or get them free in local mom groups or buy nothing groups. We use ours regularly but definitely gets expensive if you're buying new all the time.

They’re very FUN very 2,5 year olds. My toddler loooooooves puddles. She has hit every puddle there is

My 1.5 year old loves going through puddles. We’re grateful that we have a pair for him

My 15 month old loves running and jumping in puddles and playing in mud... Rain boots are what saved his feet/socks these last few months.
Winter boots just too short of an area (rubber) to keep feet nice and dry.
Once these boots are too small, definitely grabbing next size up.
Also, for warmer winter days, rain boots over snow/winter boots, with nice warm socks. Again, can play lots outside with dry feet - shoes would get wet in snow/slush. Winter boots would be too warm.
Find, for the price ($10-$15/pair) can't go wrong with rain boots.
Definitely would recommend.

We love going barefoot in puddles unless we are running errands.🤷♀️

My 2.5 year old goes out of his way to find mud and puddles so running shoes on sloppy days won’t cut it LOL. Giant tiger and Joe Fresh have really good less expensive options.

I thought they were a waste of money too....especially in alberta where it's dry and not rainy like where I grew up. BUT we went to the park yesterday since the snow melted and there were puddles everywhere, I deeply regretted not having rain boots. My 20 month old discovered yesterday that puddles are fun🤦♀️ had to come home and wash his shoes
