Oral thrush and Nystan

I had a C section last week of February where my scar got infected and I was on antibiotics which lead me to develop breast thrush and my LO oral thrush.
He was prescribed Nystan drops on Monday but they upset him so much.
For up to an hour after then he will be fine one second, nearly asleep and then be squirming in pain and crying full on tears where nothing will help moments later. I know some of the side effects are abdominal pains and extra wind so I think it’s that but it’s still heartbreaking to watch. 💔
His thrush cleared up a few days ago and I’m still treating myself but do you think I could stop his drops since they’re causing him so much discomfort?

When my LG got oral thrush we had the same issue so I stopped using the nystan when her thrush had cleared and she hasn't got it since
Although I wasn't breastfeeding so I'm not 100% if baby could catch it off your breast again whilst you're treating it
I've had nystan before myself and not only is it gross it did give me belly ache too so I can only imagine what littles ones feel like with it

oh bless her I’m sorry she had the same issues!
I am exclusively pumping at the min because my LO also had a tongue tie that was only just corrected so I needed to give my nips a chance to attempt to heal a bit as my supply was dropping because of the pain from the tie and breast thrush. So providing I keep on top of my treatment and sterilising I’m hoping it will be okay 🤞🏻thank you for your reply! 💓

@Jaz yes so if baby isn't latching onto the breast in my experience baby shouldn't get it again, we was given 2 bottles of nystan and didn't even use 1 bottle of it to be honest
We also had tongue tie issues she had it cur at 3 months and it has helped with her bottle latching so hopefully soon you'll be able to heal and beeast feed again 🤞😊
