Anyone else struggle to at least get 4oz minimum of water in their 10 month old a day. I worry I am gonna have him go dehydrated. But he obviously drinks milk through out the day

My son doesn't get water every day. He drinks 28-30 oz of milk a day. Sometimes I'll give him a small sip of water from a straw while we are eating, but he hates water. He never drinks even an oz.

They won’t get dehydrated if they don’t drink water if they drink milk. I’d say the water intake is more for them not to get constipated from eating solids plus getting them used to the water for after a year when they stop drinking milk for nutrients

He doesn't get water often and doesn't drink well from the cup, but he does get plenty of breast milk

Which has a lot of water in it

Just had our 9 month check up and the doctor didn’t even ask if we were giving water yet. As long as they get adequate BM/formula they don’t need water. We offer a sippy cup occasionally but in my 15+ years of caring for children I’ve never stressed giving water before 1.

Nightly water intake works for me…. Whenever she cries a little a night or needs assistance to go back to sleep I give her a sip or 2 or after her meals I give water
