It’s the give me that baby for me, ask nicely

Set boundaries and make it clear your not going to put up with her crap and make sure your SO is supporting you. I just finally snapped on mine. When we got home with our new baby she was at our house and started in on me about how i ask to much of HER baby because i gave birth less than 24 hrs prior and needed his help in the bathroom. I finally did explode and gave her a piece of my mind. Damn did it feel good. I held my tounge for 7 years.

Say whatever it is you have to say. Say it respectfully but with your whole chest. Also, make sure your partner is supporting you in this. I don’t have that support when I need it all the time and it makes it 100 times harder to get the respect and understanding I deserve from my in laws. Good luck mama.

The “respectfully” part isn’t necessarily because they deserve it because a lot of the time they certainly don’t deserve it. It just makes your point harder to argue which is what we want. Sometimes it feels like a strategic game of chess. Keep your composure for as long as you can… and when you can’t anymore. Let it rip! Just know I’m silently supporting you either way ❤️
