Should I visit the GP?

I have irregular periods and we’ve been trying for a second baby for a while now. Is it worth a trip to the GP to check if I’m actually ovulating or will they not want to help because we already have a baby?

It doesn’t hurt to ask your GP, they should be able to do you a blood test if you have reason to believe you’re ovulating.
Alternatively you could check yourself with ovulation tests or BBT tracking.

If you’ve been trying for 1 year you can go to the GP for tests now. If you’re 35 years or over you can go for testing after 6 months of trying, regardless of previous children

Are you tracking your ovulation?

You can definitely ask the GP and they will be able to run some tests for you. My GP did say that the test once you’ve been trying for a year. I was TTC for about 6 months and contacted my GP and just told them I’d been trying for a year as by the time all my results had come, it had been a year of TTC! Xxx

yeah but my cycles are really irregular. LH tests get a surge but I’ve read that doesn’t show that you actually have ovulated. I’m still feeding my 2.5 year old a couple of times a day so wondering if that’s suppressing ovulation maybe 🤔

BBT tracking would tell you as your temp only goes up if you’ve actually ovulated
