Did you use blankets in baby’s bassinet or crib 0-6 months?

I read that loose blankets can overheat and/or can suffocate baby. I plan to just swaddle my baby 0-3 months, no blankets but what about the winter months? This is my first child and I have no clue what I’m supposed to do. Do’s & dont’s are needed 😓👇🏽

Go in store and add everything to a wishlist or baby registry on Amazon.
makes it easier to know what you have listed and if you missed anything. Amazon baby registry actually has a list of things you’ll need by category

Swaddle, if you aren’t very confident on swaddling a sleep sack.

Sleep sacks 100%. Blankets and pillows are a sids risk and advise not to use them until you feel comfortable they can get out of it without risks

Sleep sack that has the option to swaddle! Something like the Halo type that has Velcro “wings” - perfect for when your baby needs to start to transition out of having their arms swaddled (either because they don’t like it or if they start to roll, you shouldn’t swaddle a baby’s arms when they show signs of rolling)

My little one liked having her hands near her face to self soothe :)

Swaddle or sleep sack! It’s not recommended to have anything in their crib with them until 1yr.

It’s expensive but it help with sleep idk how it is for baby I’m curious about it bc how heavy is it for it to be designed for a baby

You can put blankets on a baby in a crib as long as their feet are at the bottom so they cannot slip under and the blankets should be breathable and tucked in

Sleep sacks. Fleece with sleeves. Most of mine are Carter brand, but a few other brands too

Nothing loose in the bassinet or crib - only wearable blankets/sleep sacks. Our favorite was the one with Velcro that held his arms to his side - he slept so good in that one.

We did sleep sacks and cotton muslin swaddles. He didn’t use a blanket until probably a year and a half when we moved him to a toddler bed against ours
