This might be a silly question but oh well.
I think I’m having a miscarriage as the tests aren’t getting darker and I’ve bled a little bit when I woke up which has stopped now. Do I need to call my GP or do I just leave it? I have no idea what to do
I think I’m about 5 weeks

I would call early pregnancy unit they should be able to help

And if it’s excessive bleeding go to your nearest ED

We're all different so this may or may not be a sign of early miscarriage.
If you want to know what happened to me this week at 5 weeks I'm happy to message you, I am far more educated now on how these things work. I dont want to worry you. But do prepare yourself for MC as a possibility. 5 week zone is an incredibly fragile time. Xx

This happened to me, everyone's different but feel free to message if you want to talk 😊 xx

As others have said, it can go either way. I’ve had spotting that carried on for a bit and a healthy pregnancy, spotting that turned into heavy period bleeding and a healthy pregnancy, as well as spotting that stopped but ended with a miscarriage.
My EPU won’t see you until you’re over 6 weeks though, as it can be really hard to determine anything conclusive from an ultrasound this early, so just something to bear in mind if you do try to get seen x

I’m sorry you’re going through this, it’s stressful.
It can go either way. GP wont do anything and it’s unlikely EPU will do anything unless you are bleeding heavily and/or having very painful cramps. The only way to know would be to continue doing pregnancy tests every couple of days, if they are getting fainter/aren’t progressing then it’s not a good sign. When you’re around 6.5 weeks you can go for a reassurance scan (privately) x

Tests might not get darker, not everyone gets dye stealers etc so it just depends on your tests. Bleeding in early pregnancy is super normal so it could be that or could be sign of a miscarriage, it’s really hard to tell tbh.
When I started bleeding with my last pregnancy, I phoned my midwife unit and they said if my bleeding wasn’t heavy and stopped and I was still getting positive tests to call back and they’d get me booked in for a scan around 6 weeks. I had gone through a chemical so didn’t end up going but I’d recommend speaking to your midwife or early pregnancy unit. Since your bleeding has stopped, that’s generally a good sign but I’d stress to them about how you’re feeling and that you’d like to have an early scan x
