Toddler constantly sick

Mama’s of littles that go to daycare/preschool, is your kid sick all the time? Our son is sick almost constantly, I’m talking twice a month and he stays sick at least a week. It’s to the point where we are thinking about pulling him out of his preschool program. Anyone else experiencing this? Any tips to prevent some of the sickness?

My 2 year old has been going to her preschool almost 2 months and hasn’t gotten sick once. They keep it very clean there and practice hand hygiene diligently

Have you tried any vitamins for him? I know he's only 2, but unless you're thinking about homeschooling in the future, kids get sick. My son doesn't get majorly sick, at least not since he was a little baby

Not all the time but fairly often and is sick for at least a week and a half I give him elderberry and I don’t know if it helps but doesn’t hurt 🤷🏽‍♀️ Also when he is sick, Boiron homeeopathic meds seem to help him get better quicker Also it’s been helpful to constantly be sucking out those boogers

@Mariela is it just cough/congestion or serious sickness where he can't be at school?

@Rachel I don’t send him to school if he’s had a fever which he usually does get one and then follows bad cough and lots of mucus. I wait to send him back until after it has passed a bit. I don’t want him getting other kids sick and passing on whatever virus he may just be getting

@Mariela oh man, he gets fevers! I'm sorry about that! That's good you don't send him, you wouldn't believe how many parents sneak their sick kids into school 🤦‍♀️ I would definitely talk to his doctor about what you could do and why he's getting sick so much. If he's new to being at daycare, then it's just the usual first period of being there. I hope he stops getting sick
