I think they do it not to scare us lol

I think people do but you also can't understand something you've never experienced so even when people try to say how serious motherhood is, it's in one ear and out the other.

@Brittani I totally get that. I don’t think anyone can prepare or describe the reality of motherhood.. I’m just sick of people making it seem like it’s just a lil silly ol goofy thing we just dilly dally around and play house like NO 😂 THIS STUFF IS SO SERIOUS. And It’s a lot of pressure when you genuinely want to be a good mom.

@Erica true! Good point of view. I’m out here scaring people. 😂 the things it can do to your body and mind are not talked about truthfully enough..

That’s what I’m really scared of. I stopped asking people their experience because everyone’s is so different. Some will tell you horror stories and others it’s like a breeze, and some say they don’t remember. I just hope I’ll be ok

Funny I just had this conversation with my therapist today. It’s no joke. I’m learning to cope with this new person called me. The struggle is real and I think every mother should be told this is no cookie cutter/hollywood experience for all!

@Erica don’t be scared but expect the unexpected hun. Motherhood is different for everyone but one thing I think most can agree on is your mind and body will never be the same as before it’s a change some ppl find hard to adjust to and cope with.

@Lachelle YES!! Becoming a mom Rocked my world in ways unexplainable.. it really is like a new identity emerges. I’m trying to learn to adjust to the new me too .

Hang in there. Tbh it’s only time and a great social support maybe even therapy that helps!
