Money shaming my friends?
Is my friend money shaming my other friends? I invited her to my baby shower that’s in another state, and this is her response. I’ve been friends with her since high school, and consider her a close friend. She sounds resentful, rude and not a friendly response. Am I reading this wrong? Or is she just being rude?

Is that how she normally texts? It does sound a bit rude. But honestly I would just ignore it. Let it be her problem.
She sounds envious.
She sounds jealous that she can’t make it to support you. Definitely not the way I would go about saying that I couldn’t afford to travel though….. weird to make it about other people?
I definitely think there is a better way to say everything she said. This comes off sour
Her response definitely seems rude, but are you having a destination baby shower or does she just live in a different state than you? I do think it would be odd to ask people to travel and presumably get a hotel room, etc for a baby shower, and could see people being (usually privately) offput by that.
