Acid reflux

I’ve suffered of acid reflux (GERD) my entire pregnancy but now at 34 weeks it’s gotten worse. I don’t even have an appetite anymore. Is anyone going through the same thing? Any tips?

I stopped eating past 7 and that really helped the reflux at night. I cut out a lot of citrus and tomato based sauces and that seemed to help

Over the counter nightly Esomeprazole 20 mg is the only thing that helps me

When I was pregnant I suffered really bad with it. Gaviscon is your best friend in this situation. Warm milk kinda helped a little and also mustard. It works for heartburn, acid reflux etc. After giving birth it got really extreme for me where I would end up in hospital from it, was excruciating. To this day 6months pp I’m still get it every now and than

Roasted almonds helped me a lot!

I only had a late breakfast around 12 and the acid reflux started around 3pm and it hasn’t stopped. 🥲 Thank you girls for sharing your tips. I’ll give them a try. Momma needs a good night sleep asap.

My OB put me on Prilosec!

I've been dealing with it so bad that it wakes me up in the middle of the night almost throwing up. I've had to eat tums right before I go to sleep as well as sleeping propped up. I go to my OB tomorrow and I'll be talking to him about it to see if theirs anything he can do for it. I know if I have it during the day, milk is the only thing that helps now... only for about an hour and a half but it's something. Someone told me baking soda and water mixture but it didn't help me.

@Mackenna so I have been dealing with the same thing! Literally nightly, waking up choking in throw up. Just absolutely miserable. I did tums till I realized that I was eating more than 4 at night.. so my OB had me do Pepcid twice a day which worked for a bit till I had to start doing that with tums. She now put me on Prilosec. I started it Monday and it does take 3-4 days to kick in but so far, no waking up in the middle of the night!

Yess - weird but a cup of milk before bed helps me so much 😭

Tums don’t help at all. I’ve had to “sleep” sitting down to avoid choking. It’s terrible. I have an appointment next week. I’ll definitely ask the de about Prilosec.

Ive been on pepcid its the only thing that works.

Prilosec is amazing!

Yes! It wakes me up at night. Sometimes I take Tums. You can also take Pepcid AC. Third trimester heartburn is a bitch.

Only thing that's helped me is pepcid.. I'm right there with you girl. I'm 33 weeks pregnant & My heartburn was so bad that it involved a ER visit lol and I laugh now because it's the first time I've ever had to go to the ER for heartburn. Idk if this helps in your case, but try not to skip meals..you have to eat like a toddler, every 2-3 hours. Don't just eat 3x a day.. fit in a healthy but fulfilling snacks in between meals. Skipping meals gives you badass heartburn too. Shoot go for some cereal but just try not to skip meals

Nothing helps so my dr prescribed me Famotidine

@Diana dr also told me that because I would only eat breakfast and lunch since my acid reflux was so bad in the evening
