Could you pop curtains up? We have both a black out blind and black out curtains. Due to gaps, neither of them completely block out the light but they make it better working together.

I had same issue we put curtains over that with a round end rod

Curtains

On Amazon I bought this really crappy looking (but absolutely works) travel blackout curtain. It’s basically black fabric with suction cups. Sounds stupid but worked a charm while I waited for my husband to install a blackout blind

We bought these and they stick to the top part of your blinds too https://amzn.eu/d/6K72g2r

I like the portable black out blind too. But Ikea also do these adhesive black out blinds. They don’t last forever, but I bought them for one summer a couple of years ago, and they lasted the season and worked well. You cut them to size and stick them up. https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/schottis-block-out-pleated-blind-dark-grey-90369507/

Dunelm ultra blackout curtains!

@Suzanne Aistrop amazing! Do you have a link?

@Kristie @Mara @Alexis we do have curtains but they’re light coloured and they don’t cover the whole windows. It is 4 windows side by side. Can’t really afford proper curtains for all 4 at the moment!

I also had light coloured curtains that were not black out. Dunelm have black out lining you can attach to them. They are fab! Bit fidgety to put up but work a treat

I put up black out curtains and use hair claw clips to hold the middle tight together 👍🏼

Amazon has film, that you put on like frosted glass, that is black out.

Blackout curtains

We use the tommee tippee black out blind but instead of attaching it with the suction cups I got some velcro and attach the velcro bits (used to resize it) on the blind to pieces stuck on the window frame. Sits almost flat and lets next to no light in.
