Please help me

Lately my little one keeps getting out of bed at bed time. I thought for sure that he’d be tired not napping. This is a new record. I’ve tried to keep closing the door for extended periods. Richard farber method. He just thinks it’s playtime and he keeps turning on the light. It’s never been like this. EVER. He thinks it’s play time. Please someone help me hes refusing to stay in his bed. It’s been over an hour and idk what else to do.

you can say something like 'It's time to sleep. Please stay in your bed'. Then return your child gently and calmly to bed, without talking or scolding. Do this as many times as it takes until your child stays in bed. I had to do this it’s not always easy but it is for their benefit overly tired children aren’t happy children. it isn’t going to be easy per se because your little one might keep getting out of bed and pushing boundaries but that’s when you need to be consistent and show them that the boundaries are there and that you’re going to stick to it.

@Kaylene Albuquerque girl I have been. I never had to do this like this. It’s never been this bad

He’s getting up as soon as I walk out of the room

I know it’s hard I have the same issue when my son turned 3 he just wanted to play just walk away breathe if you have to but when he gets up turn back around and place him back in bed after about two attempts I would not even say a single word to him make it very clear bedtime means you stay in bed does he have a set bedtime routine but mama you have to prepare yourself because it won’t fix itself over night it will take a couple nights of having the same routine and clear boundaries then he will understand

If mine doesn't take a nap during the day then she's like this at night. We tried venturing out of nap time but then this started happening to us. So brought it back and kinda re-enforced it.

Have you used a hatch or anything like that? Where the light changes color at different times? Teach them what each color means (bed time versus get out of bed time, etc) My son got the longest time just wouldn't sleep unless he fell asleep in our bed and we moved him, or someone stays in his room until he fell asleep. Then he would wake up in the middle of the night and we'd do it all over again! The very night that we got a light like this (ours is through Alexa), HE STAYED IN BED UNTIL IT CHANGED!!) haven't had an issue since. Some nights he still won't go to bed without one of us, but he stays there

@Ari I have not used that, but that sounds really good!

@ᏗᏒᎥᏋᏝ🧜‍♀️ sometimes I think that can happen if he doesn’t nap too

let him sleep in the bed with you. dont let he hear music or watch tv one hour prior. he is having nightmares and he doesn’t want to sleep. Say to him before he sleep: In peace you lay down and soon sleep because the Lord is your protection and your fortress.
